Next Meeting Wednesday, October 3, at King’s Restaurant, Harmarville
Board Meeting 7:00 pm, General Meeting 7:30 pm
Greetings Pony Lovers –
Our last outdoor meeting of the 2012 summer
season was held on September 5th in North Park.
The beautiful evening weather contributed to an
excellent turnout. Dwight again pleased the
crowd with his signature hot dogs, while many
members brought goodies to round out the meal.
We will sorely miss these wonderful outdoor
meetings as we return indoors next month.
The next planning meeting for Marque of the
Year (MOY) with representatives from the Pitts-
burgh Vintage Grand Prix will be on September
24th. Our MOY committee will report back to
the membership at our next meeting.
Tim Baker is continuing to plan for this year’s
Fall Foliage Tour, to be held on Sunday, October
21st. He has a great day lined up for seeing the
local fall colors. This is an RSVP event, so be
sure to let him know if you’re coming. He needs
to give an accurate headcount for the Foliage
Train Ride we’ll be taking.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Sun-
day, December 9th - our Holiday Party at Fer-
rante’s Lakeside east of Irwin. Mike & Erin
DeLeonibus are planning a very special event
for us.
Our membership continues to grow. In fact,
we signed up our newest members at the last
meeting, bringing our total to nearly 95 mem-
ber families. But we need to find a way to en-
sure these members stick around and renew for
next year.
It’s not too early to start thinking about our up-
coming elections for 2013. If you have an in-
terest in running for office let me know. And if
you’re a current office holder, please consider
running for another term.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, Octo-
ber 3rd at King’s Family Restaurant in Harmar-
ville. We’ve contacted King’s management to
let them know about our increased membership
and turnout at meetings. They’ve promised to
make sure there will be adequate seating and
two wait staff available to ensure prompt ser-
vice.
Keep those motors runnin’,
Ken

Minutes of September 5, 2012 Combined Board and General Meeting
The combined meeting was called to order by Ken B., President, 7:30 PM, at the Roosevelt Pavilion, North Park. The sign-in sheet was passed
around, and the 50/50 was sold by Gerri.
New Members: Frank and Joanne W., 1967 GT convertible with original window stickers; Guests: Al and Barbara who attended the Starlite finale.
Minutes: The August 12, 2012 Meeting Minutes were reviewed. It was moved by Cheryl B. and 2nd by Mark Mo. to approve the minutes. Motion
carried.
Correspondence: None.
Treasurer's Report: Jason U. reviewed income and expenses. Income consisted of the donation from our sponsor, dues, and the August 50/50 raf-
fle. Expenses were to Jennie for postage and to Starlite’s North Way Christian Community for the Single Mom’s Garage donation. It was moved
by Andy S. and 2nd by Tim B. to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried.
Membership: For Mary, Dwight reported we have two new members since August’s meeting: Darrell and Terry M. and Doug and Terri C. We
have a total of 93 members. He reminded members the 2013 renewal period begins Oct. 1 through Dec. 31 and the dues are $20. Membership
dues are now $10 through the end of Sept. with membership status to the end of Dec., 2012.
Newsletter: Andrew absent. Ken reported that Andrew and Clare will try to be here for the Fall Foliage tour. Sept. 15 is the deadline for the Octo-
ber Newsletter. Send your photos, articles, and event info to Andrew at [email protected] and to Jennie at [email protected].
Merchandise: John H. reported he has a special on patches from the previous car show for $5. Sweatshirts are in and he can order embroidered
shirts. The Mustang throw is available for $30.
Webmaster: Jennie reported the website is still doing well and the club continues getting hits. We are averaging 170+/day. The record number
of 2,500 was for the All Ford-Powered Show. Check the Announce-ment Page for events and photos. Ken commented that much of the website
activity is probably non-members, but he encouraged our members to start using the site as the place to go to get the latest info on events, etc.
TRCCC: Ron absent. For our new members, Ken explained what the TRCCC is and what it does. It is a club of clubs, with representatives from
various local clubs meeting to discuss items relevant to all of us, such as the Legislation that was passed regarding using your own original plate as
an antique plate. The years are 1906-1975 and must have the original year stamped on it. The plate will stay with the car.
MCA: Ed absent. Ken reminded members of the Mustang Club of America Board of Directors elections. The Ballot postcard is included in the
Sept. issue of Mustang Times and must be postmarked by Sept. 30.
Event Wrap-up: Ken thanked Bill, ValJean, Dwight and Mary for working on the Hospitality Picnic, and Sue and Ken B. for hosting the picnic at
their home.
Ken discussed the Starlite Grand Finale. There will be a Starlite Cruise for 2013, but they are not sure what form it will take. Jason mentioned
there could possibly be 1,100 cars next year, and there was the question about using the upper parking lot.
Upcoming Events: Listed in the newsletter and on the website. Dwight reported on the upcoming Watkins Glen
Grand Prix Festival and Winery Tour (Sept 7-9). Sixteen cars will be participating, including 10 from Pittsburgh. Dwight asked if anyone would
be interested in an October Fest activity. He will check it out.
Ken mentioned he did not hear back on the GPMC Nite at Buffalo Wild Wings in Cranberry. Also, the historic Saltsburg Car Cruise is scheduled
for Fri., Sept. 7, from 5-9 PM.

The Pgh. Vintage Grand Prix 2013 was discussed. The Mustang will be the Marque for 2013 in recognition of Mustang’s 50 th anniversary. Several
GPMC members met with Jerry L. and PVGP organizers in August to begin planning. They are looking to the GPMC to help publicize, organize,
and assist with next year’s PVGP. We hope to have a presence at all of the events. We will be working with other Mustang clubs, and Ken will put
together a mailing list to the CanAm clubs. Jason asked if a preliminary flyer had been prepared for the show.
