We look back at special times like birthdays and holidays and remember wonderful times with family and friends. There are also times that we wish our parents would have destroyed the pictures - like the ones taken in our birthday suites. They always seem to think these were so funny. These pictures aren't funny until you have them of your own children. Fond memories or not, we have these pictures to remind us of important times in the lives we have been given. They serve as memorials that have the very power to shape our future. We look at those old pictures and see loved ones who have significantly influenced our lives. Although, they have gone on to their reward, we look at them and remember the encouragement and wisdom they gave us. We are once again motivated to walk in their footsteps to share in their eternal destination. Jesus also knows how important it is for us to have such memorials to encourage and guide us. He left us the most significant reminder of all - the Cross. As we celebrate the silver anniversary of the ministry here at the Ross Road Church of Christ, let's remember those who have gone on before us. Let's use their encouragement and wisdom to motivate us to walk toward our shared heavenly destination. Grace & Peace! Gerald

Brothers and Sisters, please understand that relationships are precious in the sightof God, and they have to be cultivated. As children of God we are obligated to careone for the other, and to share our resources as the needs arise. (1 John 1:16 - 17)The scriptures teach that love hides a multitude of faults. Therefore, if we truly loveone another, a fault should not stand between us. (1 Corinthians 13:4 - 7) We aretaught that if we come to the altar and remember that our brother has a fault againstus, that we should leave our gift at the altar, and go and be reconciled to our brotheror sister. (Matthew 5:23 - 24) The scriptures further teach that it is impossible for usto love God, whom we have not seen, and hate our brother, whom we see daily. You see, with God, the relationship is more precious than the sacrifice. As humanswe have all been blest with our individual and distinct feelings and imaginations, which means that we don’t always have the same thoughts about a particular issue. Therefore, we have to discuss, empathize, and compromise one with the other toensure that all of our concerns are given equal consideration. This is a part of thecultivation process that each of us has a responsibility to participate in, to ensure astrong relationship.

Ross Road is a place where you can experience God’s love, grow in God’s family, and serve in God’s kingdom.

Ross is the place for you!

Welcome to Ross Road! We are soglad that you have joined us thismorning. Please fill out a visitorcard and place it in the offeringtray when it passes. Also, pleasestay around a few minutes afterworship so that we may meet you.Thank you for the opportunity toshare the love of Christ with you -we hope you will be back soon!

Though God's part is the big part, our part is also necessary if we are to reach heaven. We must comply with the conditionsof salvation which the Lord has announced. Our part is clearly set forth in the following steps:Hear the Gospel - "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whomthey have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" - Romans 10:14Believe - "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists andthat he rewards those who earnestly seek him." - Hebrews 11:6Repent of past sins - "In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent." -Acts 17:30Confess Jesus as Lord - "... they came to some water and the eunuch said, ‘Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?’Philip said, ‘If you believe with all your heart, you may.’ The eunuch answered, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.’ " -Acts 8:36-37Be baptized for the remission of sins - "Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christfor the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’ " - Acts 2:38Live a Christian life - "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you maydeclare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." - 1 Peter 2:9

Lord we need to move beyondThis place that we are in

To touch your very heart, O GodTo have your love within

We need to move beyond the limitsWe’ve placed upon our lives

To move into more of youRevealed through Jesus Christ

Help us to keep pressing onAs, by faith, we take more steps

To really conquer our inner selvesTo know you with more depth

Help us Lord to overcomeTo be focused more on you

No matter how hard it gets for usWe need to press on through

Though Satan rises with hell’s furyWith vengeance to devour

We pray, O God, you’ll arise in usAnd fight with holy power

For greater are you within usThan the enemy of our souls

For you have power and might, O GodAnd your Spirit is in control

We know the victory shall be oursThough for now the heat is on

Help us Lord to not give upFor by this you make us strongYou will sustain us in your love

Through what we’re going throughAnd deliver us the other side

Victorious in you!

There are times in our livesWe feel much like

A flower struggling to bloomWe go through those times

Of change and growthLike a caterpillar in a cocoon

Nobody can seeThe Lord’s hidden work

Until the day we break throughThen we can begin

To spread out our wingsAnd arise as butterflies do

God has a much higherCalling for us

And wants us to rise up in HimWe can make such a difference

If we’d only realizeThe potential we have within

So allow the LordTo work in your life

To make you all you can beSo you will one day

Be able to soarAnd know what it means to be ‘FREE’
