Learn About It!
When composing an entertainment speech, it is important to establish the structure first. A basic entertainment speech has an introduction, body and conclusion
Writing the Introduction of an Entertainment Speech
When writing the introduction of an entertainment speech, make sure to capture the attention of the audience. You may use humor, anecdotes and other witty remarks to make your audience know that they are bound to have a good time with your speech.
Below are different examples of an introduction for an entertainment speech:
(1) Good morning ladies and gentlemen. It is sticky and it is soft. It is soft and it is hard. It is sweet and sour. What is this? It is bubble gum-a type of gum with many health benefits and I am here to talk about them all. (2) Ladies and gentlemen, I have invited another visitor to assist me. He is a wonderful husband to his wife and a father to his kids. Who is this? Well, it’s none other than me. This person standing before you is a role model. Or maybe not!

Writing the Body of an Entertainment Speech
Always remember that a stand-up comedy is different from an entertainment speech. An entertainment speech has a clear message which is elaborated in the body of the speech.
The body of your entertainment speech should revolve around a central theme, Be sure to present the main points and details that will support your main points. Express these points using humor to make the audience feel good while making your message unforgettable.
Below is a short example of the body of a speech:
Humans are confusing creatures. When he wants something, he does everything he can in order to get it but when he finally has that thing, he loses interest. He wants to buy extravagant things but when he finally does, he does not appreciate them and craves for something more instead. When he loves someone, he hurts them.
Truly, man does not know what he wants, what he is living for and why he exists in this world that does nothing to help ease his everyday confusion.
So, ladies and gentlemen, do you still want to be a human being?
Writing the Conclusion of an Entertainment Speech
When writing the conclusion of an entertainment speech, make sure it is memorable and that it summarizes the central theme of your speech. The goal is to leave them laughing after your conclusion. You may use humor, funny quotes or anecdotes, as well, to end your speech.
Below is an example of how to end you entertainment speech:
Ladies and gentlemen, you have to lead your own life and not let others dictate to you on what choices you’ll make. Grab life firmly on the arm and pull it.
Guide it towards the path that you want it to take.
Just remember: Make sure to loosen your hold when it says “ouch”!
