They are required to take 4 core courses and 4 elective courses. Each course consists of 39 hours of lectures and is assigned 3 AUs. Classes for eachcourse are held once a week for three hours and examinations are conducted duringofce hours at the end of each semester. Students are also required to undertake a

research project of 6 AUs on an approved topic. They must also submit a dissertationon their project. In lieu of the research project, students can opt for an additional electivecourse of 3 AUs and an independent study module (ISM) of 3 AUs.

For MSc in Communication Software Engineering programme, the research projectcan be replaced by the Communication Software Project which is carried out by agroup of 5 to 6 students over 2 semesters (for full-time programme) or 3 semesters (forpart-time programme).

    (B) Joint NTU-TUM MSc Programmes:

Students can complete the programme over 3 semesters in 1.5 academic years. Theyneed a total of 12 modules (including 2 labs) of 41 Academic Units (AUs) and a projectof 15 AUs and must achieve a minimum of 2.5 CGPA. All modules will be conducted inNTU campus through face-to-face teaching by NTU and TUM professors.

Each module will be conducted within 2 weeks and the students will sit for examinations(in the 3rd week) after completion of each module. Students are also required tocomplete a one-semester project. The project should be based on a topic related to ICDesign/Microelectronics, and a thesis must be submitted. It can be undertaken eitherat NTU or at TUM or in industry. In addition, students are required to take an Englishmodule of 80 hours and 5 other non-technical short modules of 10 hours each.
