Graduate Success by Area of Study and Program – AY16, AY17, AY18

Highlights

1. There were 3,674 students who graduated from ACC in AY 2015-16. Overall, 86% of these graduates were enrolled and/or employed, including:

• 39% enrolled in additional higher education. • 71% employed.

2. There were 4,035 students who graduated from ACC in AY 2016-17. Overall, 86% of these

graduates were enrolled and/or employed, including:

1. 38% enrolled in additional higher education. 2. 71% employed.

3. There were 4,156 students who graduated from ACC in AY 2017-18. Overall, 85% of these

graduates were enrolled and/or employed, including:

1. 39% enrolled in additional higher education. 2. 70% employed.

4. Graduates in science, engineering, and math were more likely to pursue additional higher

education with or without working (53% of 188 graduates in AY 2017-18).

5. Graduates in public and social services were more likely to be employed with or without enrolling in additional education (80% of 348 graduates in AY 2017-18).

6. Graduates in business were more likely to be enrolled and working simultaneously (31% of 153 graduates).

Automated Student and Adult Learner Follow up System (ASALFS) Process of tracking students whoattend Texas public community and technical colleges after they leave the colleges. Process involveselectronic matching of social security numbers of students with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC)Unemployment Insurance (UI) wage records, federal databases of civil employees, and the public highereducation enrollment database maintained by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).Incarcerated students enrolled in academic programs as well as students with invalid SSNs are excludedfrom the cohort.GRADUATE Students who received an award during a given academic year (Fall, Spring, Summer I, andSummer II).ADDITIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION AND NOT EMPLOYED Students found to be enrolled in a Texaspublic higher education institution in the Fall following a given academic year, and not found inemployment records.EMPLOYED AND NO ADDITIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION Students found in the employment records asemployed during the 2nd quarter following the program year in which they left postsecondaryeducation and not enrolled in a Texas public higher education institution in that same Fall.ADDITIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION AND EMPLOYED Students found to be both enrolled in a Texaspublic higher education institution in the Fall following a given academic year and employed viaemployment records.EMPLOYED AND/OR ADDITIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION Students found to be employed via theemployment records and/or enrolled in a Texas public higher education institution in the Fall following agiven academic year. (NOTE: This is an unduplicated aggregate of the first three columns.
