hobbies do I posses? What colleges am I

eligible for based on my GPA, course selection, and test scores?

other considerations-academic competition, athletics, special programs, religious affiliation….

Campus Visits Read the college catalog &

view book prior to visit. Ask questions about: where

students study, computer access/availability, weekend life, types of sports & club offered, security, what are current issues on campus…

Visit classes, the library, resident halls, talk to students…get a feel for the campus culture

Timeline

• Don’t overextend yourself when scheduling for next year. (5 AP classes = 5 college courses)

• Keep up grades schools are expecting same performance as sophomore & junior year

• take SAT I & II’s by Dec of senior yr.-may want to start taking end of junior year

• Campus visits are very important (spring break & summer)

• write away for private school information

• apply to schools in Nov.• Conditional acceptance

in March, final acceptance in July
