Thanks to the future Nice/Airport multimodal transport hub that will connect Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, TGV and TER lines and the tramway network, Grand Arénas makes an ideal destination for companies wishing to locate in a center for development of their activities in the South of Europe and the heart of the Mediterranean, in a distinctly international context.

Comparable to other leading European business districts, Grand Arénas is the Côte d’Azur’s decision-making center, set in a dynamic mixed urban environment and uniting the existing business district, which covers some 10 hectares (155,000 m2 of net floor space), with a 51-hectare extension operation set to accommodate facilities including an international-level exhibition park and a multimodal transport hub alongside housing units and shops.

Josep Lluís Mateo has an international reputation, and was appointed “urban architect-in-chief” of the Grand Arénas operation. Heading a multidisciplinary group including Atelier VILLES & PAYSAGES, the EGIS France engineering office and the DTZ Group, and signatory of a nine-year framework agreement, he is responsible for the operation’s urban design, overseeing building projects to ensure their architectural and environmental coherence, and acting as project manager for development work. Today, then, Grand Arénas is in the hands of one of the world’s finest urban architects – a prize-winning creator of a range of outstanding works. His many achievements include the Barcelona Exhibition Center, for which he won the 2008 “Top International Purpose-Built Venue” prize and “La Factory” on the Isle of Seguin in Boulogne-Billancourt, which was awarded Spain’s NAN architecture and construction prize.
