WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSITY OF BRIGHTON OPEN DAY

Choosing the right university is probably one of the biggest decisions you will make. Our open days will help you with information to make that decision. Open days are your opportunity to find out more about your subject and the way it is taught here and also to get a feel for the student experience in Brighton.

At the University of Brighton, you’ll be part of an academic community of over 21,000 students set across five campuses in three coastal locations, each with their own distinct character.

At our open days you will be able to attend subject presentations, tour the facilities available for your course and speak to academic staff who will teach you. Students will also be available to give you a firsthand account of their experiences and the support provided by the university.

Staff will be on hand to answer your queries about housing, student funding, career progression, disability and health, whilst the Students’ Union will tell you all about entertainment, clubs, societies and other opportunities, such as volunteering, that are on offer to our students.

I hope that our open day provides you with the information you need, that you enjoy the day and decide to apply to Brighton. If so, we look forward to welcoming you into our community in 2016.

Professor Julian Crampton, Vice-Chancellor

There is no on-site parking at this campus, so we recommend taking public transport when possible. Parking is available in Brighton city centre. Refer to the council website for more information on city centre parking.www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/parking

TRAVELLING BY BUSBeing so central, the campus is on almost all of the city’s bus routes. For timetables and student fares, visit the Brighton and Hove Buses website. www.buses.co.uk

TRAVELLING BY TRAINThe closest train station is Brighton. It is a 10-minute walk from the campus.

From Brighton station take the entrance to Trafalgar Street which is on the right-hand side of the station as you leave and runs under the station entrance area and down the hill. Follow it to the bottom of the hill and then turn right onto Grand Parade. Cross to the other side of Grand Parade and keep walking towards the sea. The university’s Grand Parade building is on the left, opposite Victoria Gardens before you get to the Royal Pavilion.

For timetables, visit the National Rail Enquiries website.www.nationalrail.co.uk

Getting to Brighton is easy. It’s just under an hour by rail from London and only half an hour by road and rail from London Gatwick Airport. The city is also served by a direct rail link from the Eurostar Service at St Pancras, as well as being easily accessible from the major ports of Dover, Portsmouth, Southampton and the local port of Newhaven.
