GRANT PROFESSOR EMERITUS TO CHARLOTTE COOPER

WHEREAS, Emeritus status was established to recognize College employees who retire in good standing, have served the College with distinction for a minimum of fifteen years, and their contributions have been widely recognized by the College and the sponsoring community; and

WHEREAS, Professor Cooper served CCFL/FLCC with distinction for over thirty-two years; and

WHEREAS, Professor Cooper was awarded the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Librarianship in 1991 and also received Distinguished Service Awards and Professional Achievement Awards from the College Community; and

WHEREAS, Professor Cooper presented throughout the county on topics such as Librarian as Teacher, and the Embedded Librarian Model; and

WHEREAS, Professor Cooper worked with local organizations to acquire specialized materials for the FLCC collection, especially in music; and

WHEREAS, Professor Cooper was active in campus governance and served on Academic Senate, as well as the Curriculum and Assessment Committees, and also served on regional and state library executive boards. Professor Cooper served as a Bibliographic Editor for Research & Teaching in Developmental Education, and a Referee for Serials Review;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the FLCC Board of Trustees hereby bestow the distinction of Professor Emeritus status upon Charlotte Cooper with all the rights and privileges thereof.

GRANT TECHNICAL SPECIALIST EMERITUS TO EMILY KURYLA

WHEREAS, Emeritus status was established to recognize College employees who retire in good standing, have served the College with distinction for a minimum of fifteen years, and their contributions have been widely recognized by the College and the sponsoring community; and

WHEREAS, Emily Kuryla served the College, the Nursing department, the students and the community for twenty-five years; and

WHEREAS, Emily Kuryla was instrumental in starting High Fidelity Simulation, and attended nursing conferences on the regional and national level to introduce new concepts; and

WHEREAS, when the Nursing Simulation position was vacant, Emily Kuryla took on the additional responsibilities of that position to ensure students benefited from the simulation learning experience; and

WHEREAS, Emily Kuryla sat on several Departmental committees and also served on the Professional Association Contract negotiation team, and served for many years as the nursing club advisor; and

WHEREAS, Emily Kuryla coordinated a yearly fund raiser to benefit the House of John and the Light Hill Comfort Care Center in Canandaigua;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the FLCC Board of Trustees hereby bestow the distinction of Technical Specialist Emeritus status upon Emily Kuryla with all the rights and privileges thereof.

GRANT DIRECTOR EMERITUS TO ROBERT LOWDEN

WHEREAS, Emeritus status was established to recognize College employees who retire in good standing, have served the College with distinction for a minimum of fifteen years, and their contributions have been widely recognized by the College and the sponsoring community; and

WHEREAS, Robert "Bob" Lowden's FLCC career as a coach, teacher, mentor and Athletic Director spanned thirty-one years; and

WHEREAS, Bob Lowden implemented the “Winning with Character Program” to strengthen student success, both on and off the playing field, which provides character and ethics education resources to our student athletes challenging them to reach their full potential in the classroom, on the field and in society. Thanks to Bob, FLCC was the first community college in the nation to offer this program; and

WHEREAS, Bob Lowden additionally implemented a Faculty Fellow Program, which links faculty volunteers with athletic teams to support student retention; and

WHEREAS, Bob Lowden raised $10,000 for the Jeff Stahl scoreboard, and his vision was realized when, in spring 2019, the state-of-the-art athletic facility was dedicated and now provides student-athletes on the Women's Soccer, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Softball, Men's Soccer, Men's Baseball and Men's Lacrosse teams the opportunity to practice and play in a modern, upgraded facility. His vision included adding new athletic teams to the FLCC Athletic Program including Women's Lacrosse and Esports; and

WHEREAS, in addition to the many College committees Bob Lowden served and chaired, Bob served as the NJCAA Men’s Region III Director, District 2 representative for the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Association (NATYCAA), representative to the NJCAA National Division III Baseball Committee, and co-chaired the NJCAA National Track and Field Committee;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the FLCC Board of Trustees hereby bestow the distinction of Director Emeritus status upon Robert Lowden with all the rights and privileges thereof.

GRANT PROFESSOR EMERITUS TO FREDERICK MACNAMARA

WHEREAS, Emeritus status was established to recognize College employees who retire in good standing, have served the College with distinction for a minimum of fifteen years, and their contributions have been widely recognized by the College and the sponsoring community; and

WHEREAS, Professor Frederick “Fred” MacNamara was an excellent and dedicated classroom instructor during his thirty-six years at CCFL/FLCC; and

WHEREAS, Professor MacNamara developed both the Human Services and Chemical Dependency Counseling Degree programs; and

WHEREAS, Professor MacNamara advised and mentored thousands of students with academics and also, at times, their personal struggles. Fred's main goal was to ensure the success of his students and the human services program; and

WHEREAS, Professor MacNamara served as chair of the Middle States Committee as well as numerous other college governance committees. Professor MacNamara was a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching; and

WHEREAS, Professor McNamara’s professionalism was most evident as a Department Chairperson when he led his department through several confidential changes and hiring of personnel, in addition to routine chairperson duties of identifying and hiring a large number of adjunct faculty;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the FLCC Board of Trustees hereby bestow the distinction of Professor Emeritus status upon Frederick MacNamara with all the rights and privileges thereof.

GRANT ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR EMERITUS TO BARBARA SELVEK

WHEREAS, Emeritus status was established to recognize College employees who retire in good standing, have served the College with distinction for a minimum of fifteen years, and their contributions have been widely recognized by the College and the sponsoring community; and

WHEREAS, Associate Professor Barbara “Barb” Selvek consistently went above and beyond the scope of her job requirements during her twenty-one years at FLCC; and

WHEREAS, Associate Professor Selvek served on the following committees; Executive Committee: Academic Senate, Academic Senate By-laws Ad Hoc Committee, Faculty Council of the Community Colleges for three terms, College Curriculum for 16 years, serving as a member, Vice Chair and Chair; and

WHEREAS, Associate Professor Selvek served on the SUNY Provost's Nursing Education Task Force during which she co-authored a white paper on Nursing Education Seamless Transfer from Associate Degree to PhD through SUNY colleges.; and

WHEREAS, Associate Professor Selvek served as Vice President and then President-elect for the Lucretia H. Richter Nursing Scholarship Fund. Associate Professor Selvek is currently a member of the NYSNA Nurse Response Team, The Salvation Army Disaster Relief Team and a Lighthill Comfort Care Home Volunteer; and

WHEREAS, Associate Professor Selvek served as a mentor for several graduate students over the years;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the FLCC Board of Trustees hereby bestow the distinction of Associate Professor Emeritus status upon Barbara Selvek with all the rights and privileges thereof.

WHEREAS, Emeritus status was established to recognize College employees who retire in good standing, have served the College with distinction for a minimum of fifteen years, and their contributions have been widely recognized by the College and the sponsoring community; and

WHEREAS, Professor Wilsey epitomizes the meaning of a true “Laker”, beginning as a student and then coming back to serve the students and the College for over forty years; and

WHEREAS, Professor Wilsey was the Business Department Chair for over a decade and coordinated the Office Technology Program for over twenty years; and

WHEREAS, Professor Wilsey served on, and chaired numerous committees throughout her career. Most notably was her participation in the League of Innovations for Community Colleges and on the Board of Directors for the FLCC Association; and

WHEREAS, Professor Wilsey received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching; and

WHEREAS, Professor Wilsey championed a “student first” philosophy that was so much a part of the founding principles of this institution. She developed and fostered harmonious relationships with her colleagues and peers;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the FLCC Board of Trustees hereby bestow the distinction of Professor Emeritus status upon Mary Wilsey with all the rights and privileges thereof.

ACCEPT PROPOSAL: INTERNAL AUDIT

WHEREAS, the College administration has identified a need for an internal audit for Finger Lakes Community College; and WHEREAS, college personnel have reviewed said proposals and determined the proposal from Hungerford Vinton, LLC meets the specifications; and WHEREAS, the internal audit services for FLCC will be performed for the fiscal years ending August 31, 2020, August 31, 2021 and August 31, 2022, with the option of performing similar services for an additional subsequent fiscal year ending August 31, 2023; and WHEREAS, the cost of this proposal is as follows: $20,000 for fiscal year 2019-2020; $15,000 for fiscal year 2020-2021; $15,000 for fiscal year 2021-2022; and $15,000 for fiscal year 2022-2023, for a total cost not to exceed $65,000 during the term of this proposal; and WHEREAS, the FLCC Board of Trustees Audit and Enterprise Risk Management Committee has reviewed and approved this resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the FLCC Board of Trustees hereby accepts the proposal of Hungerford Vinton, LLC., 6 Twin Ponds, Suite 201, Spencerport, NY 14559 for internal audit services for the fiscal years ending August 31, 2020, August 31, 2021 and August 31, 2022, with the option of performing similar services for an additional subsequent fiscal year ending August 31, 2023, at a cost not to exceed $65,000 during the term of this proposal; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that certified copies of this resolution be sent to the FLCC Vice President of Administration & Finance, the FLCC Director of Enterprise Risk Management & EHS.

BID ACCEPTANCE: PURCHASE OF RESTROOM SUPPLIES 2

WHEREAS, the Ontario County Purchasing Director advertised for and received bids for the purchase of restroom supplies 2, bid B20007, for Finger Lakes Community College; and

WHEREAS, college personnel have reviewed said bids and determined that the low responsive/responsible bidder that met specifications for listed items is acceptable; and

WHEREAS, the specifications for bid B20007 allow an option for renewal for two additional twelve-month periods for a total of three years, if mutually agreeable by both parties; and

WHEREAS, the term of this contract is from March 7, 2020 through March 6, 2021; and

WHEREAS, this is a demand contract, therefore, the annual cost will depend on the items and quantities ordered and the budget available; and

WHEREAS, the FLCC Board of Trustees Finance & Facilities Committee has reviewed and approved this resolution;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board of Trustees hereby accepts the low responsive/responsible bidder that met specifications from the following:

Regional Distributors, Inc., 1281 Mt. Read Blvd., Rochester, NY 14606 (items #3 and 4)

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that certified copies of this resolution be sent to the FLCC Vice President of Administration & Finance, the FLCC Director of Buildings & Grounds, and the Ontario County Purchasing Director.
