Granting a Franchise to Alley's Italian Ice for operation of a stationary sidewalk vending cart on the
north corner of Taylor Street and Lincoln Street at the Finlay Park entrance
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Columbia, South Carolina, this _ day of , 2011/ that pursuant to Sec. 11-256, 1998 Code of Ordinances of the City of Columbia, South Carolina, that Alley's Italian Ice is granted a franchise for the operation of a stationary sidewalk vending cart on the north corner of Taylor Street and Lincoln Street at the Finlay Park entrance for a period of one (1) year from the date of enactment hereof.

Christopher B. Alley, the applicant, requests permission to operate an Italian Ice cart at the North Corner of Lincoln St. @ Finlay Park. The applicant proposes to sell 19 flavors of Italian Ice, a product approved from List “A” & “C” at this location. The applicant will also utilize one chair, which will not obstruct pedestrian traffic. A copy of the application is attached for your information.
This location meets the distancing requirements of Section 11-258 regarding sidewalk vending locations.
Staff recommends approval subject to review and approval of evidence of insurance and of compliance with health and fire codes (§11-257).
