2. Grant Objectives

Encourage use of e-payments in USAID funded programs

Defray costs to compare and document the costs, challenges, and benefits of using cash versus e-payments

Target Outcomes

Grant target outcomes include helping organizations:

Evaluate & implement the transition from the use of cash to e-payments in an initial program area of focus;

Conduct a comparative assessment of the costs of cash versus e-payments in the initial program area of focus;

Document and share challenges encountered in the transition from cash to e-payments and steps taken to address those challenges;

Identify key lessons learned in the transition process; and Establish next steps in the organization’s use of e-payments as an alternative to

cash.

Data and information provided by grantees will be shared and publicly released to encourage adoption of e-payments by other USAID implementing partners and to provide insights into procedures for making this transition.

Eligible Organizations:

1. USAID funded program (direct or indirect)2. Using physical cash disbursement 3. Countries of Focus: Afghanistan, Haiti, Indonesia, Malawi, or the Philippines.

Grant Size:

$50,000 in funding Up to 5 fixed obligation grants Grants between $10,000 and $15,000 6 month grant period

Resource Commitment: contribute funds or in-kind contributions equal to or greater than the value of the grant
