Dust mites can not breed in a natural rubber mattress. Pure natural rubber mattresses are naturally antimicrobial, and prohibitive of mould and bacteria. These beds are made without ribbing on the edges, preventing bed bug nesting, offering some comfort on that aspect.

PProcessing of materials also affects respiratory issues. All materials used to make your mattress should be grown, processed and manufactured without chemicals and the least processing involved.

Third party certification involves the independent evaluation of a claim by expert unbiased sources. In general, third party certification is considered the highest level of assurance you can achieve, and is particularly valuable where the claims being provided are fairly complex.

When buying a natural mattress, always look for third party certifications and get a copy of any certificates avail-able such as this one. It is important to ask for the copy and take look at which factors that are controlled. A certification can range from one sheet to an elaborate document with detailed test results. Research certifica-tions from home to gain better understanding of materials used.

There are many independent certifications out there. Some organizations may issue a certificate at different stan-dards than others. Ask questions from the seller to see why they chose that particular certifier.
