THE BIRTH OF GRASSROOTS POWDERSURFING

Grassroots Powdersurfing is the brain-child of Jeremy Jensen, who has invested over 16 years into developing a form of powder riding that is completely binding-free. Borrowing technology and inspiration from snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing, We worked to create the ultimate binding less powder tool. We created a product and a form of riding that returns us to the roots of snowboarding, while making a leap forward in avenues of progression that had yet to be explored. This form of self-expression pays tribute to the original intentions of snowboarding 's early pioneers (to surf mountains) while embracing the progression of modern surfing and skateboarding . We wanted to give something back to the world of board sports that has given us so much over the years.

Jeremy founded Grassroots Powdersurfing Company in 2007 and has worked tirelessly ever since to show the world the beauty and soul of powsurfing. Starting with only $200 and scrap wood from his garage, he planted the Grassroots seed and nurtured it with hard work, skill and dedication. It wasn't easy to design, build and market a product that nobody had ever heard of, especially while attending grad school full time and working another full time "real job" to support his family. Jeremy has spent what little extra time he had building powsurfers and making films that showcase these boards in action; working to educate, inform, and share powsurfing with the world. After 8 years of hard work and personal dedication, powsurfing is making a significant mark on snow riding culture and riders all over the world are discovering how it feels to truly surf the snow.

POWDERSURFING: A NEW MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE

Something incredible happens when you remove that fixed connection to the board from the equation. The perception you've grown accustomed to while snowboarding is altered immensely. Small hills become large, big mountains become huge. You begin to notice details in your environment that never peaked your interest before. The world's largest playground that we call "the backcountry" suddenly becomes even bigger.

Powdersurfing offers a whole new way of viewing and interacting with the terrain in front of you. You can choose to experience the most surf-like style of riding imaginable as you ride the frozen waves; smacking lips and laying down deep bottom turns while floating atop the deepest and lightest powder. You can visualize your environment as the largest skatepark on earth; taking full advantage of the fact that there is no connection to your board and pursuing a true skate-style of riding. Snapping ollies, bomb dropping, or spinning and flipping the board under your feet. You can choose the snowboard-style approach; dropping cliffs, punching chutes, and launching airs just as you did when you were strapped in , but now with greater challenge and deeper sense of satisfaction. The avenues of self expression are limitless and there is a whole new world to explore. Whether you are riding deep in the backcountry or just outside your back door, powdersurfing offers a challenge that can make even the most simple terrain fun again.

Welcome to Powdersurfing' You have discovered the fountain of youth.

Introducing Grassroots Powdersurfing's

CDC 3-Dimensional Base

Our CDC 3-D Base technology takes, performance, directional control and board feel to the next level. We have been working hard to properly incorporate theory and technology used in surfing into base designed for snow, to give our boards even more control, floatation, speed, and character. After years of experimenting and refining this design on wood based prototypes our CDC 3D base is now available in our high quality ptex base, providing the fastest glide and superior durability that you have come to expect from Grassroots.

With our CDC 3-D base, a convex spoon nose gradually transitions into a double concave waist and tail. This design lightly displaces snow across the nose of the board and channels it through the waist and tail of the board, increasing float, speed and precision control. Our design increases the bite of the rail and the leverage in your turns so you can cut sharper and lay into your turns even farther. The board becomes even more responsive to the subtle movements of the rider. Benefits from this design shine across all types of snow including packed snow, and shallow or variable snow conditions.

AVAILABLE ON SELECT DIRECTIONAL MODELS ONLY**

**OUR CDC technology is designed specifically for a directional ride. For consistent and solid riding both forward and backwards we highly recommend tour flat base option.

SPLIT-SURF

After 7 years of playing on our own personal split-surfers we decided it was time to offer them to the public. We've added inserts for the touring brackets and reinforced the board with extra glass for added strength and stiffness in touring and surfing mode. The Grassroots Split-surf comes with it's own special binding system for touring that releases quickly and easily with the pull of a pin and packs nicely into your backpack for your binding-free descent.

BUILD YOUR QUIVER AROUND YOUR STYLE

The varieties of snow conditions and terrain are as diverse as every riders' vision and style of self-expression. This is why we design so many shapes, sizes and styles. We make powsurfers to handle every rideable condition and terrain under the sun and to fuel the progression of a variety of different riding styles.

Some prefer a loose and floaty feel, while others want to cut sharp snowboard-like turns. Many riders live in densly forrested or highly technical terrain and prefer a very agile board to navigate that terrain. Others ride the wide open bowls of the alpine and prefer a slower turning ride. Some areas get burried in light and dry snow, while others get dense and heavy snow, wind affected snow, or very little snow at all. We design boards specifically to excel I in each of these conditions.

Whether you want to cruise the mountain with a surf style, charge the mountain snowboard-style, turn the backcountry into the world's largest skatepark, or create your own hybrid of it all; we've got the perfect tools to help you make that happen.

Any experienced surfer or snowboarder can testify to the power of a quiver. Powsurfing and binding-free riding are very much quiver dependent for the best possible experience. We are happy to help you pick the best board for you and your terrain and assist you in building a quiver that will help you get the most out of every day that you paddle out into the backcountry. With over a decade of experience shaping and refining powsurfers, we know this game better than anyone.
