Grayson Academy Junior Summer Camp 2017

Dear Parents: Welcome and thank you for your interest regarding Grayson Academy’s summer camp program. The primary purpose of this program is to provide quality care, educational and recreational experiences throughout the summer months. The program seeks to provide opportunities for children to explore new adventures, have fun, and to participate in a variety of activities. They will also get a chance to experience such things as arts and crafts, games, field trips, charity activities, sports, outdoor/indoor play and much more. The following information will give you an overview of the exciting program that awaits your child. Summer Camp Fees: Camp registration fee: FREE! Weekly Tuition Fee of $120.00. There is a one-time activity fee of $125.00 for the “Junior” group (Prospective Kindergartners – 2nd graders) which covers all calendar events & twenty (20) field trips for the entire summer. There may be weeks that your child will need $1-5 which will cover visits from the ice cream truck and other miscellaneous activities. There may be days we ask you to pack your child a sack lunch and drink as well. Please note that breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack will be served daily. Breakfast will be served between 6:30 – 8:30 am. Lunch will be served at noon. An afternoon snack will be served at 3:00 pm. The center will be closed on Memorial Day, May 29th and Independence Day July 4th. Dress: Children should be dressed in comfortable and durable play clothes. Shoes should be laced sneakers or strapped sandals. The t-shirts have the required information on it that each child is required to have when attending a fieldtrip and each child is required to wear their t-shirts to each field-trip. Each child will be issued their t-shirt and their name will be written on the inside. On field-trip days we will have the child put the t-shirt on and they will take it off when they return. We will wash the t-shirts and have them ready and available for the next fieldtrip. Children will be given their t-shirt at the end of summer camp. Guidance and Discipline: The staff will consistently use positive guidance and discipline techniques. The children will have the opportunity to make a choice of activities and at times, the use of redirection may be necessary. Of course, our staff will listen to a child’s perspective and feelings and help the child develop and carry out appropriate solutions to the problem. Our staff will keep parents informed of any behavioral issues that will require their assistance. If we continue to have behavioral issues with your child after much redirection, he or she may have fieldtrip privileges removed, if there continues to be a problem your child may be disenrolled from the summer camp program.
