INTESMO LLC has its own engineering centre which has no equals in Russia.

The Engineering Centre is equipped with the unique equipment which provide the widest range of physical and chemical, rheological and operational tests of greases on a modern laboratory and test-bench equipment. The results of such tests give the possibility to improve the greases formula and their manufacturing process to design the greases meeting the special requirements of the customer. The endurance tests of greases on SKF ROF+ machine, estimation of the corrosion-resistant capability of greases on SKF EMCOR test machine, determination of the flow-pressure in the lower limit of operating temperature according to DIN 51805 method, estimation of the grease stability against corrosion according to DIN 51808 method and many other tests are carried out on special- equipment from the leading world manufacturers.

The Engineering Centre also provides services:• Special greases are designed in the Engineering Centre as per the Customer’s terms of reference, considering peculiarities in operating conditions and required properties;

• Used greases are tested as per the Customer’s order with regard to required parameters.

The finished designs are put into production on the company’s own completely automated plant; the greases are produced from high-quality materials. Rich experience and outstanding qualification of employees are the basis for Engineering Centre operation. We know how the grease should operate in the equipment.

INTESMO propose you their vision of really effective greases.

The advantages of operation of LUKOIL greases:• High performance; • Extended maintenance and repair interval; • Extended service life of the equipment; • Reliable protection of friction zones at operation in extreme conditions; • Complete technical assistance of LUKOIL greases operation at your enterprise;• Provision of technical support and consultation on the replacement of the used lubricants by LUKOIL greases.

OPERATING CONDITIONS

Like any other machines, the diggers are exposed to wear. Their failure-free operation dependson co-operation of all units and assemblies of the machine.LUKOIL greases are specially designed to ensure reliable operation of the equipment, unitsprotection from wear caused by vibration, dynamic and shock loads, as well as from externalimpacts, such as high dust content, extremely low temperatures and atmospheric humidity.

GLOSSARYAdhesion — bonding of the surfaces of dissimilar materials, stickness.

Boundary friction — a mode arising in case when friction surfaces are separated by a thin layer of lubricant (less than 0.1 µm), not exceeding the height of the surface microroughness (unevenness). Causes to high wear.

Operating temperature range — the range of temperatures in which the grease meets technical requirements and an interval is maintained between the lubricant batches supply.

Tribology — a branch of physics dealing with research and description of the contact interaction of solid deformable bodies at their relative displacement. The subject matter of tribological researches are the processes of friction, wear and lubrication. The main tribological factors of flexible lubricants: welding load, scar diameter and wear index. The tests are carried according to GOST 9490-75.

Welding load — the minimum load at which the welding or conventional welding of the surfaces takes place (the torque on spindle exceeds the setting in GOST 9490-75). It characterizes the limit efficiency of the lubricant.

Wear index — dimensionless quantity which shows the ability of the lubricant to prevent the load wear (heavy wear caused by microwelding of the surfaces).

Scar diameter — the diameter of the wear scar after testing, measured in millimeters.

Solid fillers — solid materials which have the low friction coefficient. They are added into grease to reduce friction and wear, to prevent load wear, cold welding and fretting corrosion.

Base oil — the base for manufacturing of lubricating oils and greases.

NLGI — (American) National Lubricating Grease Institute.

DIN — Deutches Institut fur Norming e.V.; German Standards Institute.
