In this regard the Agen- cy’s media plan prepared for highlighting the state’s three destinations globally was discussed at a high level meeting here today, chaired by Tourism Minis- ter, Ghulam Ahmad Mir. The Ogilvy and Mather representatives gave a power-point presentation of the tourism promotional media plan and briefed the meeting about the compo- nents of different publicity campaigns to be carried out in and outside the country to attract more tourists to Jammu and Kashmir, an official statement said. Commissioner Secre- tary Tourism and Culture, Atul Duloo, Director Tour- ism Jammu, R S Mehta, Director Tourism Kashmir, Talat Perveez, besides other senior seniors of tourism department and represen- tative of Ogilvy and Mather attended the meeting. The meeting discussed the tourism media plan of the Agency and several sug- gestions needed to be incor- porated in the plan for wide publicity to get high end tourists, besides new ini- tiatives taken by the State government for developing new spots and adventure, golf and eco-tourism in the State, with world class infrastructural facilities. The Tourism Minister underscored the need for giving wide publicity to J&K tourism potential, tour- ist facilities and conducive atmosphere through nation- al and international media well before commencing of spring season. He directed concerned authorities to coordinate with the Agency for making the tourism pro- motional campaign a suc- cess. The Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir is round the year destination and underscored the need for showcasing it globally with a view to display all seasons tourism potential of the State through reput- ed national and interna- tional electronic and print media. He also directed that the films, advertisements should depict the all season potential for showcasing it in and outside the country. Mir hoped that this year the State would witness a big boom of domestic and foreign tourists. He said that tourism is the main- stay of our state's economy and the government has launched a vigorous tour- ism promotional campaign in the country as well as in overseas countries. He said: “We have visited many countries this year to pub- licize the States’ tourism and received positive sig- nals from foreigners about their visit to the State”. He said that “J&K is known for its hospitality and we all should have the responsibility to provide all necessary facilities to the visiting tourists”. The Minister called for joint efforts for promotion of tourism in the State and Focused attention paid to promote tourism: Jora Jammu, Feb 23: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora on Saturday said that as Tourism Minister he has put his best to promote tourism in Jammu and Kashmir around the globe. He said during his stint as tourism minister focussed attention was paid to promote tourism and efforts were made to develop not only the existing tourism infrastructure but new tourist des- tinations were also brought on the tourism map. Addressing a function organised by All Jammu Hotel and Lodges Association at Jammu Club, here, Jora said that all efforts to give fillip to the tourism sector in the State received considerable attention and varied tourism activities including pilgrim tourism, Sports and adventure, cultural tourism attracted record number of tourists to Jammu and Kashmir. Jora said that all the three regions received equal attention and several major development initiatives were taken and some are in pipe line for development of tourism in Jammu Division including several Tourism Centres, Golf courses, cable car projects, Mubarak Mandi Culture Heritage centre, Border Tourism, development of lakes including artificial lake on Tawi Nallah, TRC at Rajouri, face lifting of Bahu Fort and many more projects. The meeting discussed the tourism media plan of the Agency and several sug-gestions needed to be incor-porated in the plan for wide publicity to get high end tourists, besides new ini-tiatives taken by the State government for developing new spots and adventure, golf and eco-tourism in the State, with world class infrastructural facilities. The Tourism Minister underscored the need for giving wide publicity to J&K tourism potential, tour-ist facilities and conducive atmosphere through nation-al and international media well before commencing of spring season. He directed concerned authorities to coordinate with the Agency for making the tourism pro-motional campaign a suc-cess. The Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir is round the year destination and underscored the need for showcasing it globally

with a view to display all seasons tourism potential of the State through reput-ed national and interna-tional electronic and print media. He also directed that the films, advertisements should depict the all season potential for showcasing it in and outside the country. Mir hoped that this year the State would witness a big boom of domestic and foreign tourists. He said that tourism is the main-stay of our state's economy and the government has launched a vigorous tour-ism promotional campaign in the country as well as in overseas countries. He said: “We have visited many countries this year to pub-licize the States’ tourism and received positive sig-nals from foreigners about their visit to the State”. He said that “J&K is known for its hospitality and we all should have the responsibility to provide all necessary facilities to the visiting tourists”. Focused attention paid to promote tourism: Jora

Jammu, Feb 23: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora on Saturday said that as Tourism Minister he has put his best to promote tourism in Jammu and Kashmir around the globe. He said during his stint as tourism minister focussed attention was paid to promote tourism and efforts were made to develop not only the existing tourism infrastructure but new tourist des-tinations were also brought on the tourism map. Addressing a function organised by All Jammu Hotel and Lodges Association at Jammu Club, here, Jora said that all efforts to give fillip to the tourism sector in the State received considerable attention and varied tourism activities including pilgrim tourism, Sports and adventure, cultural tourism attracted record number of tourists to Jammu and Kashmir. Jora said that all the three regions received equal attention and several major development initiatives were taken and some are in pipe line for development of tourism in Jammu Division including several Tourism Centres, Golf courses, cable car projects, Mubarak Mandi Culture Heritage centre, Border Tourism, development of lakes including artificial lake on Tawi Nallah, TRC at Rajouri, face lifting of Bahu Fort and many more projects. Meanwhile, Jora hoped that all those projects launched by him, would be completed under the dynamic leadership of the new Tourism Minister, G.M Mir, and expected that these projects on which presently the work is going smoothly would be completed within the stipulated time.

4. Deposition of Fee:- The fee, as prescribed above, shall be deposited by the Heads of the affiliated institutions of the concerned eligible candidates in the shape of bank slip to be obtained from the concerned BOSE Office, pledged to the Chairman, the J&K State Board of School Education, Srinagar and deposited in the designated branches of the Jammu & Kashmir Bank Limited, Kashmir.

5. Instructions and Guidelines for Deposition of Enrollments:-

a) The Heads of the Institutions are instructed to submit the enrollment/micropack statements alongwith forwarding letters in duplicate to the BOSE in its respective District/ Tehsil Offices through their authorized representatives/admission Incharge only. The letters must indicate the (Subject-wise) number of candidates enrolled and description of the fee deposited in the Bank.

b) Two days preparation time after the expiry of the prescribed last date/s is/are allowed to the institutions for deposition of fee and submission of micropack statements. In the event of last date of deposition of fee or submission of micropack statement falls a holiday, it shall automatically stand extended to next working day.

c) There shall be no binding of time for submission of enrollment/micropack statement in respect of candidates desirous to appear in private capacity during the ensuing academic session 2012-13.

President KTMF, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat appealed all the traders in the Valley to keep their business establishments open on Feb 24 (Sunday). “Keeping in view the last two weeks during which trade remained suspended because of curfew, restrictions and shutdowns, we urge our fraternity to keep open their business establishments for the people on Sunday,” a KTMF handout said.
