    Three brothers

    Orville, Richard

    and LorneJohnston started

    printing jobs in the

    basement ofLornes house in

the late 1950s. Their father, Orville Senior had

learned the printing trade while employed at S.S.

Kresgee where Lorne also ran a press.

In 1961, the three brothers opened the doors of

Johnston Lithograph, Inc. in Romulus, Michigan,

where it is still locatedtoday. In the early days,

    Johnston Litho was doing

a lot of printing for LloydWaters & Associates, an

    advertising agencywho

    is still a customer today!!

Lornes son Keith joinedthe company in 1978,followed shortly by twin

    brother Kevin in 1979 and

    then their younger brother

Kurt joined in the early 1980s, after earning abusiness degree.

    Today the three

    brothers run

    Johnston Litho,

    operating out of a

    spacious 40,000

    square foot

facility, with over60 devoted, competent and talented employees.

    Keith manages the Production, Kevin

manages the Sales and Kurt manages the

    Finances.

Johnston Lithographs expertise ranges from 1

through 6 color and up to 40 sheet fed

projects. The internal bindery operation can

    provide it allincluding cutting, folding,

    saddle stitching,perfect binding, die

    cutting, drilling,

    collating and shrink

    wrapping. Supply

    Johnston Lithograph

    with your artwork,

films or disks, and Johnstons electronic

    prepress department and in-house assembly

and proofing systems can handle all your

requests fast and efficiently. Printing one

thousand pieces or hundreds of thousands,

Johnston Lithograph has the capability to

    handle all of your

    printing needs.

    With advances in

    technologies,

    Johnston

    Lithograph has

changed throughout the years, but the one

thing that has never changed is the personal

care and concern given to each and every job.

In 1961 the original brothers made printing

deals on a hand shake and that is the way the

brothers like to deal with their customers

    today!!

    Your Assignment: Be a

    Romulus Ambassador!

True story: A family was vacationing one

summer in the Washington D.C. area. On Sundaymorning they decided to worship at a prominent

church. This church had quite a reputation for the

quality of their preaching and the corporate

worship. The family was not disappointed. The

sermon was riveting and the music, inspiring!Only one thing lacking ... hospitality!

From the moment they arrived at the church to the

time they left, not one person spoke to them

except for the pastor who made a feeble attempton their way out the door. No one directed them

to the nursery. They had to find it themselves.

No one invited them to the fellowship hall forcoffee and refreshments afterwards. They had to

find it themselves. In fact, the visiting family

deliberately stood underneath the huge chandelierin the center of that spacious hall for at least fiveminutesgazing up at it and looking as

conspicuous as possible. But no one came up to

them or introduced themselves to theseout-of-towners.

We felt as though we were invisible,

commented the husband. No one noticed that

we were even there. I dont care how good the

preaching and the music were. Nothing couldhave made up for their lack of hospitality. His

wife added, That church was as cold and lifelessas a corpse.

Church and community have a few things in

common. What makes for a great place of .worship? What makes for a great community?

Nice buildings? Paved roads and fun places?

Nice buildings and paved roads do matter. Butwhat makes for a great community that is alive

    and vibrantare the people.

As a member of the Romulus Chamber of

Commerce, I feel that I have been called to be

an ambassador of Romulus. When I meet astranger, I want to welcome them with a

friendly smile and a warm handshake. When a

new business sets up shop in our city, I want toextend a sincere welcome! When traveling, ifsomeone asks me where Im from my answer

is always positive. Im more than just a

tax-payer from Romulus. Im an ambassador.

I believe joining the Romulus Chamber of

Commerce has given me a wonderfulopportunity to serve in an organization that is

striving to make Romulus a better place! The

last thing I want Romulus to be is cold and

    lifeless as a corpse.

Not a member? Want to learn more? Would

you like to be a Romulus Ambassador?

Give me a call and Ill tell you how we canwork together, fully utilizing all the resources

the Chamber can offer in making Romulus

    great
