Greek Mythology :is the body of myths and legends belonging to the ancient Greeks concerning their gods and heroes, the nature of the world, and the origins and significance of their own cult and ritual practices. They were a part of religion in ancient Greece. Modern scholars refer to the myths and study them in an attempt to throw light on the religious and political institutions of Ancient Greece, its civilization, and to gain understanding of the nature of myth-making itself.

Greek mythology is embodied explicity in a large collection of narratives and implicity in greek representational arts, such as vase paintings and votive gifts. The ancient Greek mankind, trying to explain certain metaphysical phenomena and anxieties, invented amazing myths concerning the Cosmogony (the creation of the World) and the Theogony (the birth of the Gods). So, the ancient Greek people created their own splendid, yet human-like world of gods, justifying the various abstract significances like Love, Birth or Death.

The Sphinx(or phix)she was a female Greek kinda Person, um she was a female monster with the bodyof a lion. She had the breast and head of a woman,She had an eagle’s wing, and she had a serpent-Headed tail, but I don’t know if that is true or not,That was kinda a rumor that started back in thatTime. Phix preyed on the youths of the land, Devouring all those who failed to solve any of herRiddles. Now Sphinx knew that them children won’tGone be able to figure them riddles out. This is a pic Of her in the background.

The Gorgones(or gorgons) were three powerful, Winged daemons named Medousa( Medusa), SthennoAnd Euryale. I guess you can call Medousa the specialOne out of all of them because, she was the onlyMortal one, and so it was her head which King Polydektes of Seriphos commanded the young hero Persues to fetch. He accomplisged that by the help ofThe gods who equipped him with a reflective shield, a Curved sword, winged boots and helm of invisibility.Acording to the late classical poets, Medousa was onceA beautiful maiden who was transformed by athenaInto a monster as a punishment for lying with Poseidon in her shrine.

If you were gazing upon Medusa, you would turnInto pure stone( that’s how ugly she was)PerseusDescribes Medusas’ punishment by Athena as Just and well deserved. Medusas’ DeathIn most versions of the story, she was expectingSomeone to kill her. While fighting her Perseus Didn’t look at her directly, he used his shield as aMirror to see what she was doing, and that’s how heManaged to cut off her head I guess. Perseus put Her head in a bag a flew away on a horse that Hermes had provided, and Medusa’s sisters awoke And found her headless body lying there in a big

Pool of blood. So they immediately set out into Pursuit to find Perseus, but they were entirely tooSlow to catch him, For the horse that Hermes Scandals flew was faster than the gorgons ever would.

POSEIDONPoseidon Is a god of the sea. He took charge of The waves while his brothers Zeus and Dades Plumped for the earthy bits. Poseidon was feared By sailors, he could cause storms and shipwrecksWith the aid of his three-pronged trident, but if heIs in a good mood he can soothe the sea to sleep.Theseus, Triton, Polyphemus, orion and pegasus. His wife is the reluctant Amphitrite but still leapsFrom one lusty affair to next. Uneler the Romans, Poseidon was poised and ready to become Neptune.

In the earliest poems, Poseidon is described as indeed Equal to Zeus in dignity, but weaker.( umm… that is A shame) The Palace of Poseidon was in depth of theSea near Aeqae in Euboea, this is where he kept his Horses with brazen hoofs and golden manes. He ridesThese horses in a chariot over the waves of the sea, Which become smoothe when he approaches the sea, And when the monsters of the deep sea recognize himThey play around the chariot.

HeraHera: She is a Greek goddess, and she was theQueen of Heaven. She was a powerful queen in Her own right, but this way was long before Zeusand her got married. She was responsible for everyaspect. Of existence, including the seasons and the weather. Legends has it that the Milky Way was Formed from the milk spurting from Hera’s breast,And when drops of milk fell to the earth, fields of Lilies sprung fourth. Hera was also worshipped as The Roman goddess Juno, and the month of June(which is the most popular month for weddings) is Named in her honor.

It is partly on account of Hera’s great beauty, andParticularly her beauty, large eyes, that she is Linked to her sacred animal, the cow, and also thePeacock with its iridescent feathers having “eyes”.The cow symbolizes the goddess Hera nurturingWatchfulness over her subjects, while the peacockSymbolizes her luxury, beauty, and immortality. Some historians argue that the goddess Hera Was unjustly portrayed in the famous stories of Homer, probably because he was himself victimizedBy a mean and Shrewish wife.

Haides (Aides, Aidoneus, or Hades), was the KingOf the underworld. He was the god of death and The dead. He presided over funeral rights and Defended the rights of the dead to due burial. Haides was also the god of the hidden wealth of theEarth. Hades was devoured by Kronos as soon as He was born along with four other siblings. HimAnd Zeus later caused Titan to disgorge them, and Together they drove the Titan gods from heaven And locked them away in the pit of Tartaros.
