It can include extra layers like a root barrier and drainage and irrigation systems. Garden roofs are consisting of plants that are maintained in pots and are not generally the pure green roofs. Roof ponds are one another form of green roofs. The green roofs are also considered as cool environment friendly roofs as they has cooling property and capable in reflecting sun lights. There are mainly two kinds of green roofs: Intensive Roofs Extensive Roofs Intensive roofs are thicker having minimum depth of 12.8 cm. It can sustain a wider range of vegetation or plants but are heavier in weight and need more maintenance and protection. Extensive roofs are thin or shallow, having depth from at least 2 cm to 12.7 cm. These roofs are lighter than intensive green roofs, and need minimum maintenance and preservation.
