Follwing are the innovative ideas which helped in creating safe environment and ensured

sustained corporate growth.

1)  The demonstration of felt leadership by all officers by role modeling during their presence

on the shop floor for activities like CLIT,

Safety observation visits and JCC.

2)  Focus on good working conditions by implementation of 5S and TPM at workplace. Providing

good illumination, ventilation, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness all the time is a key to safe

workplace.

3)  It is better to be over prepared than to be under prepared - High awareness about

workplace safety through many forums / mediums for 2 way communication such as safety

communication bulletin, Suraksha Sandesh Board, Contractors safety meetings, Pre-start

safety review, Display of visual SOPs, Safety observation visits and JCCs covering 100% area.

4)  Proactive approach for improvements - In the absence of any major unsafe incidences, to

have more opportunities for learning and improvement, we focussed on the bottom of the

Heinrich triangle and started capturing even the most minor of near miss cases, and unsafe

acts /conditions. Important learning is, do not wait for a problem to hit you, instead find the

problems and hit on it. 

5)  100 % Implementation of Positive Isolation -- During shut downs or breakdowns, positive

isolation system is strictly followed as per standard to keep shut down incident free.

6)  Daily monitoring of pump condition and fire equipments is done through D.M Chart, jointly

by pump house operator and our fire fighting team.

7)  Structured review process at CRCW has evolved over a period of time which takes care of all

aspects of the Safety Excellence Journey. Daily review of unsafe acts/conditions presented by

safety expert through photographs of actual site (a picture says a thousand words) and

weekly review of “Safety dashboard”. Important learning is you get the level of safety you

demonstrate you want.

8)  Emergency (Mock) Drills are conducted Internally – Once in every Quarter and Externally – 

Once in a Year, In presence of factory Inspector & members of other Industries.
