Letter from the PresidentDear Members,First, I would like to welcome our new board members: Leo Corbin, Cline Hall, Cheri Getsinger, Jeff Glenn, Brad Evans and Russell Eaves. I am excited to have the opportunity to serve as your president this year during such an exciting time at the club.

The board began the year with a retreat during which we planned and prioritized the needs of the club for this upcoming year and beyond. For 2013, the board will focus on three key areas: membership retention and growth; operational needs; and capital needs and maintenance.

• Membership Retention & Growth - The lifeblood of any organization is stability and growth. The success of our club will be determined by us as members. The membership committee has been working tirelessly to realign our numerous membership categories into a structure that will be fair and beneficial to all members. We will be rolling out the new categories and dues structures in the coming weeks. In addition to the realignment of our membership categories, we will be implementing an initiation fee starting April 1, 2013. If you know of a potential member, this is an excellent time for them to join the club. Please contact Will Davis for more information.

• Operational Needs - The board is assessing all areas of the club, including staffing, to make sure that we have the right people in place to serve our members and offer them the services they want and deserve. We need to make sure our structure and service provides consistency and continuity to our membership.

• Capital/Maintenance Needs – The board agrees it is imperative to have a long term plan to maintain our assets and keep the quality and appearance of our locations to high standards. We have created a list of items that need to be addressed, and we are in the process of prioritizing and establishing a plan to meet the capital/maintenance needs of the club.

The social committee and staff have lined up some great member events this year. The Father-Daughter Dance was a night to remember, creating memories for the many who attended. The Valentine's Dinner was sold out, and the evening was perfect. We have comedy night on March 9, and if it is anything like the events already held, you will not want to miss it. We will soon announce details on the upcoming oyster roast, a visit from the Easter Bunny and the Spring Fling. The Spring Fling will feature a reverse raffle with the proceeds going to golf course improvements. Speaking of golf, spring is around the corner, and the golf course will soon be in full swing. There is a lot happening at the club, I invite you to come and join in on the fun!

We are fast approaching our one year anniversary since the two clubs became one, and the opportunities in front of us are endless. I am more optimistic than ever about the future of our club. The board and various commit-tees have been working together to continue to make GCC the premier club of choice. With the continued sup-port of the members, I am confident that we are positioning our club for future financial success.

Will Franklin
