We’ve put together a list of our favorite parks to visit in the fall. It sure wasn’t easy, since Greenville has a number of wonderful parks that are perfect when the weather cools off. This list focuses on parks that feature spectacular views and plenty of fall colors.

Readers’ Choice

Falls Park on the Reedy River www.fallspark.com

We agree with our readers’ that Falls Park is one of Greenville’s top parks to visit in the autumn season. Plan plenty of time for exploration because Falls Park is not only close to Greenville’s attractive down-town shopping and dining but also is only a short walk from local hidden spots such as The Children’s Garden at Linky Stone Park, the Rock Quarry, and Cleveland Park.

601 S Main St, Greenville, SC 29601

Readers’ Choice

Conestee Park www.greenvillerec.com/parks/conestee-park

Where can you find two adjoining parks that provide top play facilities and amazing trails? The answer lies in Greenville’s Conestee Park and Lake Conestee Nature Park. At Conestee Park you can expect to find one of Greenville’s best playgrounds, extensive

ball fields, open play areas, and a large picnic shelter. Don’t stop the fun there though. Be sure to also ex-plore the trail system at Lake Conestee Nature Park (in view of the playgrounds), where you can find a wide variety of wildlife and trails that span over 400 acres.

840 Mauldin Road, Greenville, SC 29607

Readers’ Choice

Paris Mountain State Parkwww.southcarolinaparks.com/parismountain

If you are looking for an escape from the city, Paris Mountain offers nature trails, fishing, boating, and a playground. Every fourth Saturday, the park also offers a free educational program at 10 a.m. as well as a themed hike ($5/person) at 1 p.m. State Park fees apply.

2401 State Park Road, Greenville, SC 29609

Readers’ Choice

Herdklotz Parkwww.greenvillerec.com/parks/herdklotz

Herdklotz Park’s height over Greenville gives the playground an aerial view of the city’s colorful trees in the fall. The playground also features lots of natural landscaping that is vibrant when the leaves change color. Families will enjoy both one of

6 Must-visit Parks This Fall

Greenville’s best fenced in playgrounds for toddlers and one of Greenville’s best playgrounds for older children. The park also features ball fields, picnic shelters, and sand volleyball court.P.S. Watch out on Halloween! Did you know that Herdklotz park also has a reputation for being one of Greenville’s haunted sites?

Editor’s Choice

Cedar’s Falls Park www.kiddingaroundgreenville.com

Cedar Falls Park is a local secret. The playground

is imaginative and great for getting kids active. But the best part about Cedar Falls Park is the paved path that leads to a beautiful wooded area where the Reedy River rolls over waterfalls.

201 Cedar Falls Rd., Fountain Inn, SC 29644
