The Picnic Table Reads Book Club

Art with Miss Adele on Wednesday August 3rd

at 10:30Children ages 6 -11 are invited to join in the fun with artist and teacher Adele Karbowski. Participants will use various mediums in an encouraging and creative environment.

Summer Fun for Young Ones!

Monday, August 1st at 10:30 am. Children ages 1 to 3 and a caregiver may register for this lively storytime.

ON YOUR MARK,GET SET…READ !2016 Summer Reading ProgramAll programs and performances require registration as space is limited. Please register only if you are sure of attending. Please kindly call the chil-dren’s room at 949-3630 x2 if you have last minute changes in your plans so we can contact families on the waiting list. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

Bedtime Storytime for 3½ to 5½ year olds on August 3rd and 10th at 6:30 pm. Children are invited to wear their pajamas, listen to stories and create a fun craft.

Book Buddies for children 3½ to 8 years old on August 2nd and 9th from 10:30 – 11:15. Several teens are volunteering to team up with young readers during the summer reading program. Chil-dren will read with their “buddy” in the children’s room. They may bring a book they are reading or choose one to read from the library the day of their session.

PAWS to Read for children ages

6 -11 on Monday August 1st from 6:00 – 7:00 pmDoes your child need practice with their reading skills? Here’s an opportunity to read with a therapy dog who LOVES to listen to stories! Children may sign up for one 10-minute session.

On Your Mark, Get Set…Animate!

for children ages 8- 11 on August 2rd, 3rd and 4th from 12:00 – 1:30 Ever wonder how cartoons are created? Learn how to make your drawings spring to life in this three-part program! We will draw on paper, create flipbooks, GIF’s and short animations. You must be able to attend all three classes. Space is limited.

Summer Olympics T-shirt and Torch Craft for children 6- 11 on Thursday August 4th at 10:30 Celebrate the spirit of the Olympics by creating an Olympic rings t- shirt and a torch that really lights up! Children will need to bring a white t-shirt.

Storyteller Joe Theroux for children ages 6-11 on Wednesday August 10th at 3:00 pm. Join us for the finale for our Summer reading Program! Joe Theroux will share stories about 8 of the strongest, fastest and smartest animals in the world competing in the 2016 Summer Reading animal Olympics!

Bubble DisplayGeorge Muldowney will be displaying his collection of LEGO creations in the display case. He enjoys building with them because they are fun and they make your brain work.

Young children, and their caregivers, enjoy story times this summer!
