RiteAid will be hosting a flu shot clinic at the library on October 16th, 9am – 12pm. You must be 19 years or older. Please bring your insurance card. Most insurance will cover flu shots, the cost without insurance is typi-cally $30, which may be paid in cash.

Metalsmithing requires many different tools and supplies. Whenever possible I prefer working with sturdy old tools, or new ones crafted by talented makers. Here are just a few of the tools I use: steel block, jewelers saw, hammers, calipers, dividers, file, metal stamps, shot plate and various gemstones.

Members of the MYSTERY BOOK CLUB are meeting on Tuesday, Octo-ber 6 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm to dis-cuss Carrot Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke. New mem-bers are welcome.

Halloween After-School

ProgramChildren ages 5-10 can join us on Wednesday, October 28, at 4 PM, as we scare up some Halloween fun! We will be making a Halloween craft, lis-tening to a story and enjoying a snack! Registration for this program begins on October 1. Children may wear a costume!

Bedtime Story TimeChildren ages 3-6 are invited to join us for a special evening story time. Children will hear stories and songs and make a fun craft! Bedtime story time will take place on Wednesday, October 21 at 6:30 PM. Registration, which begins October 1, can be done at the children’s desk or by phone at 949-3630 ext 2. Children may wear their pajamas!

Children’s BubbleOctober is national orthodon-tic awareness month, so the children’s room bubble will display a collection of orthodon-tic materials. This orthodontic display is provided by University Orthodontics. So open wide and come take a look inside the children’s room!

Greenville LEGO Club @ the Library

Come to the library on October 24 from 11:00 – 12:30 to create and share your building skills with other kids who are crazy about LEGOS! This fun-filled drop in program (no registration required) is for children ages 4- 11 and their parent/caregiver.

Game DayEvery Friday is Game Day in the children’s room at the library from 2:30 – 4:30. There are many exciting and fun board games to play for children ages 4-10. Bring a friend or make a new one! This is a drop in program, no registration is required.

Book Discussion Group The Share – a - Story Book Discus-sion Group for 4th/5 graders and their caregiver. We will meet once a month during the school year to discuss the same book we have all read that is chosen by the children’s librarian. Our first meeting of the school year is on Wednesday Octo-ber 21st from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. This is an informational meeting where we will discuss how the book group works and plan our meetings for the upcoming school year. Child Outreach of Smithfield and the Libraries of Smithfield are sponsoring an exciting program at Anna McCabe School on Friday October 16th from 12:30 – 1:15. This program is for children ages 3 1/2 – 5 and their parent/care-giver. We will share stories along with other activities. You will have an opportunity to meet the preschool teachers, children’s librarians and make some new friends!

Baker AfterSchool Center Everyday that Smithfield schools are in session, the center is open. Everyone between the ages of 11-17 or in grades 6-12 are welcome. The hours are from 2:00-5:30 on Monday-Thursday and 2:00-5:00 on Fridays. It is located in the Baker Room which is on the lower level of the library. There you will find computers, tables to use for homework or group projects and a librarian to assist you. No sign up is needed!
