Covington, Ky. I am one of the found-

which publishes books on hand tool

Happy spring – I think!! We can’t
control the weather but we can certainly
control ourselves. If another member in
the shop looks like they could use some
assistance, help them or at least ask. If you
see an unfamiliar face, introduce yourself
and make them feel welcome. Get in-
volved in the various projects around the
shop. The Toy Program for 2019 is kicking
off and every Tuesday morning until early
November, the shop will be busy building
toys. If you would like to participate, just
show up and there will be something to do.
We are making every effort to provide a
variety of classes to attend. We realize the
demand is high and we are adding classes
all the time. We are also offering other
training opportunities like the webinar of
Brian Boggs and the Chris Schwarz semi-
nars on the weekend.
Chris Schwarz is our presenter for
this month’s meeting and it looks to be an
interesting program.

Around The Shop Be aware of your surroundings while in
the shop.
• Carts of materials and tools are mov-
ing between the equipment while you are
working and you could accidently bump
into them or they could bump you.
• Inspect the saw blades on the table saws
to see if they need to be cleaned.
• Buildup can occur which affects the
performance of the blade and can cause
burning of the piece being cut. It only
takes a minute to clean them.
Please, please, please be aware of the
position of the miter fence on the table
saws before making a cut. There have been
a couple of instances where the miter fence
has come in contact with the blade. Not
only does this damage both the blade and
the fence, it has the potential of injuring
someone.
The carts in the shop are there to
assist you in moving things within the
shop. They are not a portable workbench,
clamping station or storage item. Please
remove your “stuff” onto a work table
so they are available for others to use.
Thanks!!
Enjoy the shop – be safe!!
