WEST SEATTLE NEIGHBORHOOD GREENWAY PHASE 2Construction to begin early January 2021 WEST SEATTLE NEIGHBORHOOD GREENWAYThe West Seattle Neighborhood Greenway provides improved connections throughout the neighborhood with fewer hills to climb, slower speeds, and safer crossings at busy streets. The route of the Greenway is shown on the right. Construction of Phase 2 will begin in early January 2021.

CONSTRUCTION IMPACTSOn Neighborhood Streets The impacts on the neighborhood streets will be minimal. When work is about to begin on your street, you will see “No Park” signs placed in advance. See the image on the right of what these signs look like.

At 35th Ave SW and SW Graham St IntersectionExpect more impacts at the 35th Ave SW and SW Graham St intersection as SDOT crews build the changes, shown in the graphics on the right. These impacts are described in the section below.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING CONSTRUCTION• Typical weekday work hours of 7 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday• Temporary on-street parking restrictions, with “No Park” signs placed

in advance• Driveway closures when crews are prepping and building the sidewalk in

front of driveways• Flaggers directing people driving and biking around the work• Parking restrictions to allow space for work and equipment• Detours around the work area for people walking and driving• Noise, dust, and vibrations during work hours

We will work with neighbors and the construction contractor to minimize construction impacts as much as possible.

35TH AVE SW AND SW GRAHAM ST INTERSECTION CHANGES

There was a strong community desire for a change at this intersection so that it feels safer for people, is better lit, and creates a more inviting connection to the new multifamily and retail construction on the corner. The intersection changes shown below make it more family-friendly and dynamic so people want to visit, shop and play, nearby, no matter how they get around.

These changes are shown in the graphic below and include:• walk/bike crossing signal• push button activation• improved lighting• crosswalks• elimination of certain high-risk turning movements
