Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock m agazine. Is a pleasure can do it this interview.

Hello! Thanks for the interest and support!

To start. How was your beginning in the music? Some event in particular that it influenced you in a direct way?

I was always interested in drums. I loved the look and sound and thought they were the coolest thing in the world. It was natural from very early on to want to play them all the time! My dad cranked the Beatles, I got into KISS, and there ya go!!

When you were young, were you in some rock band? Wh ich?

I had a band in high school. We wrote some decent tunes and played tons of metal and rock covers.

Page 4: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

How do you come to Ozzy Osbourne and Foreigner? How long you were in these two bands? What represented for you to be in these two bands?

I heard Ozzy was looking for a drummer. I called all the people I knew to get an audition. Luckily the guys in the band new me.

That was the Ozzfest 2000. I joined Foreigner in 1998 after I played on a demo of their’s co-written by producer Marti Frederiksen whom I had already worked with. Mick Jones heard the track, liked it, asked me to have a jam with him, and then offered me the gig.

I love Foreigner and Ozzy! I was in Foreigner 1998-2000, did some fill in stuff for them in 2006 and 2007 while Jason Bonham would rehearse with Led Zeppelin.

Then I rejoined fully in 2008- 2009 to play on their new record, DVDs, and tour…. I also filled in again in 2012.

Have you been in other rock bands? Which?

Yes…. I have been in many …. Some for brief stints, others here and there, and others a bit longer for full blown records and tours. This includes Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Glenn Hughes, Lynch Mob, Don Felder, Steven Tyler, Slash’s Snakepit, Velvet Revolver, Geoff Tate’s Queensryche and Operation Mindcrime, Sass Jordan, S.U.N., Gilby Clarke, Stevie Salas, Pride & Glory with Zakk Wylde, Michael Schenker, and Vinnie Moore...

Which rock bands have influenced in you?

All the great ones!!! KISS, Led Zep, Aerosmith, Rush, Van Halen, ACDC, Maide, Judas Priest, Sabbath, The Who, Dio, Metallica, Pantera, Meshuggah, Foreigner, Yes, The Beatles, The Doors, Neil Young, Eagles, James Brown, Soundgarden, Heart, Deep Purple, etc etc…. on and on…..

How do you enter to The Dead Daisies?

In 2013, Dizzy Reed (GNR keys) was touring with them, and called me to fill in for a week… It went well and I would come back and tour with the Daisies whenever I was available….

Recently I saw Revolution , the documentary film that the band made about your trip to Cuba the last year? How do you r emember this visit to Cuba? What is your opinion about the Cuban public?

Yes, it was a good time! We recorded, played a couple shows, met with kids at a music school, met with local musicians and jammed… etc… I had a good time and really, it’s pretty simple; if you are generally a decent person and treat other decently, you will get that back no matter where you are in the world. We all may have preferences of places we like to be the most… but outside of being home with my family, I am content playing music anywhere and being amongst cool people. Cuba has that!

Let’s focus on the new CD, “Make Some Noise”. How m any songs bring it? Do you keep the same style like in “Revolucion” or change it? Any video to promote the CD?

There are 12 songs on Make Some Noise… 10 originals, 2 covers… The style is not much different. We are a rock band that likes to sound raw, powerful and

Page 5: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

organic. That will always be the constant in this band. But I’m happiest with this new LP because the same 5 guys that wrote and recorded it are all together supporting it on tour! There is a video out for the song “Long Way To Go” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU9emE-Ia04)

How do you see the rock in this moment at world lev el compared with previous years?

I love the 70’s the best! So much ground was being broken in the music business and bands had less of a “formula” to follow, therefore it created many very original sounds from many rock bands. Bands were given a chance to grow…. The 80’s created the video age and that sort of took precedent more than it used to….and tons of dough was spent on that side… but records / cassettes and CDs were selling more than ever! Since then, there’s been some great music still, but new artists get way less of a chance and studio technology was watered down the true sounds that musicians make together… That’s a bummer.

You can “cheat” now more than ever… copying and pasting and tuning up to be pitch perfect. Damn, Queen, ELO, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, VH, Zep, The Who, The Stones, etc etc etc and the Beatles didn’t need that crap! Now it’s a like a big deal to say that you actually play and sing live at your own shows and that you recorded full takes in the studio with minimal editing….

I loved the “Grunge” era because it brought back a huge element that rock missed… originality, songs, sounds, and power from those who performed it, rather than icing in the studio. I didn’t play drums as a 9 year old kid just to try to look cool... I wanted to make the music FEEL good, groove HARD, and excite

Page 6: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

the other musicians in the band... The same way I was excited the first time I heard all the bands I grew up on…..!!

How is the life of Brian Tichy outside the rock? I mean family, friends, favorite hobby’s.

Life is good…. I still have my arms and legs about me! I have my health, wife and kids. All I gotta do is taken the excitement and energy that drums and music bring me, mix it with all the decades of practice, dreams, and pro. experience I now have, and keeps all those balls juggling in the air with complete focus on making that what I do to be happy and take care of bills while I’m above ground in this short thing we all have called life! Cuz you never know when it’s gonna end, so it’s your choice to go for it as hard as you want, or you can coast through it, but that to me would be very boring. There is always something more to go for, something bigger to try to experience… just be cool to be people and don’t be too insecure and realize that really, you make your own rules for the most part, for everything you have accomplished there are always those others to look at see how much greatness they’ve achieved… and try to take inspiration from that!

Outside or drumming, I like mountain biking, speed bagging is cool, and being away from large groups of people and cities, being in mountains, deserts and places with space, and being with my family when I’m not on tour or busy working…

If Brian hadn’t been able to be a rock star. What B rian had liked to be?

Well, you are asking the wrong person! You’d have to ask Paul Stanley or Steven Tyler or David Lee Roth what it’s like to be a rock star! There is a very large between myself in them in the Rock Star Department!

Page 7: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

But, if I wasn’t a rock drummer, I wouldn’t be anything else… There was nothing else that was every going to be acceptable. At least I knew that early on. I had no idea how to make it all happen but I was determined to hit drums for a living the rest of my life…

How see Brian Tichy their future inside the rock music?

I will continue on the same path I am on hopefully getting better at what I do every day. I have a long way to go.

I have no excuses. Experience gives you confidence… age give you confidence…. you care less about the

small, inconsequential things that may have gotten in the way in the past…. I will take what I know, what I’ve learned, and try to excel harder. Damn, there’s a long list of stuff I gots to achieve before it’s all said and done!!!

But, it all revolves around music, guitar and drums. Writing songs that people love… having enough money to bank on it and not worry so you can be busy creating new music and see new ideas and ventures through... I want to do a whole batch of solo cds…. one where I play and sing everything … all heavy shit…

One with all my buds I respect playing on it…. One complete out there and progressive to show off drum stuff… One mellow acoustic cuz I love that too …. I’m way behind!!

Well, thanks Brian for this incredible opportunity. Before to finish, something that you want to say to the Cuban public?

Thank you! And…. Hey Cuba! I had a grand time in your country! I hope to get to go back and rock some more!

Greetings to the members of Switch and be welcome to this your Cuban rock magazine. Is a pleasure can do it this interview.

To star. When and were arises the band? Who are their current members and of where they proceed?

Hello friend. Before anything else thank you to count on us for this interview and believe me that the pleasure is all our. To begin I tell you that Switch was founded September 11 2005 in Saint Cristobal, a municipality that previously belonged to the county of Pinar del Rio and today it belongs to Artemisa. Switch has today an alignment conformed by 5 members and organized in the following way: the bassoonist and director is José Miguel, the voice leader it is Maikel, the drummer it is he Robert (former-Kill the Fish, former-Dead Point, Stigma DC) and in the guitars Yanio (former-escape) and Eddy Marcos, a servant. Of the alone founders we are José Miguel and me, but the alignment with which today counts it is as if it took the 10 years of the band.

Those that have followed Switch from the beginning have been given bill that the band has changed its members in several oc casions. What happen this?

When we were founded in 2005 we never imagine that someday the band would have to make alignment changes. We even always wonder the why the bands made it. When the time step realized that many times it is necessary, other obligatory one, but it is never for pleasure. All alignment change has its objective and its reason, in our case it doesn't differ. That if, we feel very blissful with the changes that we have carried out which have allowed us to mature and to feel more and more complete. But the reasons of these changes inside Switch have always been for the musician's personal determination that has retired of the lines of the band. I believe that you should ask to them, jajajaja.

In our country the Hardcore is a gender that has many followers as well as with big bands that they have known how to defend it. That is the case of Switch, a young band that this month turns 11 years of having created. About the beginnings of this band, trajectory and other questions tell us Eddy Marcos, guitarist and founder of the same one.

Which the main influences have been?

Since we were founded we look for a gender that allowed us to denounce and to show the main problems that it confronted the current society, inside of and outside of the country. The gender that we liked and it served for such it commends it was the Hardcore, although always tinged with different slopes looking for this way an own stamp. For it the bands that have served us as inspiration front Agnostic Front and Hatebreed to Lamb Of God and Slipknot. We have always listened a lot of music, included and of course, the good national metal, and I won't mention names since I am defender of all the bands that take their work seriously and they defend our humble scene.

Why is the music of Switch characterized?

The music of Switch is characterized to be carried out with a lot of impulse and attitude. Musically speaking to Switch doesn't continue a specific pattern that determines our compositions, so much so that at the present time we have a demo of 3 topics in which you will be able to find a ballad. We make topics very old school but we also make topics with other panoramic. We don't classify ourselves in wasting the wealth of the music, clear, always respecting the limits of our main gender, the Hardcore and we always put him a lot of attitude it is which is the topic in question.

Comment us about the new CD. Name? How many songs b rings? Cover? Thematic that approach in the songs? Some audiovisu al one that accompanies the presentation of the CD?

The new CD will be called "Exile" and it will have 10 songs and an Intro. The cover stills this in discussion, jajajaja. The thematic ones essential of this CD are the same of the previous materials. Some play very social topics as the emigration and the massive exodus of people, and others speak of more personal things as the rage that it makes us sometimes feel the lack of commitment and the insolence of many individuals that surround us. But always treaties from a very respectful point of view, objective and critical. We have thought to accompany the disk with several audiovisual. We already have him one carried out one of the cuts, "Your Own Force" is called and we hope soon to put it to consideration of all.

Apart from this new CD. How many CD or demos integr ate the discography of the band?

Good, Switch has 1 CD and 5 demos inside its discography. The first demo was called Days without Sun", it continued him the demo “Ignorance", but it takes the CD “False Friendship” it would leave, later the demo came out "N.T.S", the next demo was “Broth of Thorns” and lastly the demo “Of the Bowel". All have represented an important point of the band and if you could listen to them in a chronological way you would realize the evolution of the band. I can tell you that we feel very happy with all, even with the first ones because all have given us

Page 10: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

more than happiness. What is a true pain is that many of these materials didn't end up being as diffused as we would like and although we have tried to take our music to where it wants that we have gone we are hindered a lot and it will always be insufficient.

How do you see in this moment the rock in Cuba? Do you believe that a censorship exists toward the same one, so much for part the main authorities like of the promotion means (newspaper, TV and radio)?

All Cultural Revolution faces a without detractors' that will attempt against its possible development end. That faced the rock in Cuba from their beginnings. Today is no longer so this way but it continues something that I would call existing, it doesn't censor, but easiness or inattention. The main means of our country belong, logically, to the government and east is not interested in to diffuse or to support a gender that doesn't contribute and enter

values, monetarily speaking, to the economy of the country. They prefer to diffuse goods with many less artistic values, but that they enjoy the pleasure of a town every more uncultured and more banal day. The cultural homogeneity consumes us little by little and every day will be smaller the possibility to make something in this respect. But the blame is not alone of the means or of the institutions, but also of the public and of the followers that many times change or they vary their likes to follow a tendency or fashion. Character, which is what, will save us. If we don't learn how to still defend what we like really, when it goes against the common thing, we will never be able to be a rich society in cultural diversity. I wait we realize on time or soon we will lose one of the oldest movements in the island.

What opinion does it deserve you the role that at t he moment plays the Cuban Agency of Rock? Does it defend or not the Age ncy to the bands of the whole country?

Page 11: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

The truth is that the work that at the moment carries out the Cuban Agency of Rock (ACR) this enough one far from being what needs the national scene and certainly they could make very much more. But, it is at the moment the only government institution that supports, it defends and it represents the gender. That if, they should enlarge their frontiers beyond where they are today. Many bands exist outside of the Havana that it consists with a very good artistic quality and they defend their music with a lot of seriousness. But that that if it is a pain that is not well seen by the other musicians of the country that have even ended up establishing a war against the bands that to this we belong. I have even ended up listening unfavorable comments on groupings that belong to the ACR, as if the blame has them. I wanted, as many that the ACR represented to more county bands, but that doesn't depend on the musicians. Nevertheless, we are of Artemisa and we are sometimes hindered the work by the distance, then it imagines a grouping of Camagüey or of Holguín. I believe that that it is the biggest reason for the county bands they don't exist inside the catalog of the Cuban Agency of Rock. I wait some none alone day we have an institution to end with the rock, but many.

Soon the band will turn 11 years of having created. How you value the development of the band along this whole time? That we will be able to expect from Switch in a future?

As well you already say soon we will arrive to our anniversary 11 and although one says easy you believe me that we have happened for a lot to arrive here. In general Switch it has happened, as everything, for bad and good moments. That if, we feel grateful of everything and all those that have allowed us to still be today making rock. We feel satisfied, don't conform, and understand each other, of what we have achieved. We hope to stay the most constant possible and we will continue making what we have made until today until our forces faint. Expect from Switch many things provided the life allows it. We will continue making HardCore for while!!! Well, thanks to Switch for your time. Before to fin ish something that you want to say or add.

To finish I want to be appreciated for this opportunity and to have had the band for this interview. I wait it is not the last one and this way to be able to maintain to the point to all that that it wants to know on us. To thank, once again to all those that have supported us and to those that have helped us to be Switch. And I say goodbye I eat I almost always make it, with a sentence of one of our topics, in this case it is of the topic Breaking Walls which figures in the new CD and that it is something like that as a slogan that has put the band from their foundation: "I won't cease in my fight, a fight that will never finish. Defending my convictions and my doctrine with dignity." HxC4Live, HxC4Ever!!!

Greetings to the members of Alhándal and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine. Is a pleasure can do it this interview.

To begin. Why the name of Alhándal? Some meaning es pecially?

J.Z. - Alhándal refers to the fruit of the coloquíntida, a plant that grows in the north of Africa with refreshing properties. Besides for the meaning, it seduced us for their sonority.

When and where does Alhándal arise? Who are their c urrent members? From where do they proceed?

J.Z. - Because Alhándal comes from the reunification of a called previous project Tyr, with two CD in the market. The current members are Yiyi Vega to the voice, Francisco Grandson to bass, Germán Villén to the keyboard, Carlos Núñez to the battery and a servant to the guitar. Vega, Núñez and I take practically together from the beginnings of the project, it makes more than 15 of years, while Francisco Grandson and Germán Villén has incorporated more recently.

ALHÁNDAL is a Spanish band that sits down its roots in the music rock, but that its branches seem to point toward more diverse styles. A novel project with a white influence of Andalusia that, from their beginning in the year 2009, it has generated three study CDs and an intense activity in direct for the whole national territory. About their beginnings, trajectory and other questions comments to us Juan Zagalaz y Francisco Nieto, two of their members.

By: Alejandro Pérez.

I have listened several times your CD "Where it beg ins the time" and allow me to tell them that it is brilliant. How was it th e edition process and recording of the same one? Thematic that approach i n the letters of the same one? Some audiovisual production that accompan ies the same one?

F.N. - The CD was recorded in XXI Sound, in it Spreads of Galar, Navarrese, with the producing Javi San Martin, with who we have always recorded from the birth of the band. The thematic ones that are approached in the disk are varied, although the general concept rotates around our earth, Andalusia.

The CD has, also, three Videoclips, corresponding to the topics “Blue and Salt" , “Garden of the South” and “Lies really" , all available in our official channel of YouTube.

As I have understood "Where it begins the time" it constitutes your fourth discography production. Could you comment us someth ing on their previous works?

F.N. - Our first disk was titled “Roots ", (Mox Records, 2010), and it constituted the foundation of the band and of its style, composed by own topics and versions. In 2012 it saw the light “Rotta” (Mox Records, 2012), I dial double and thematic compound exclusively for own topics. In 2014, as bridge toward this Where it begins the time", the band published “Remnants", composed by versions and expensive B recorded in different moments of the history of the band.

How do you define your music?

J.Z. - Alhándal is expression, elegance, creative freedom and sensibility. Those are the basic pillars on those that we sustain our musical project.

Page 14: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

Which have the main influences of the group been wh en composing your songs?

J.Z. - more than to speak of concrete groups, we can speak of seemingly distant styles. On a rock base, the band presents strong influences of the flamenco, of the jazz, of the country and even of the sound bands. The abolition of stylistic limits is another of the signs of identity of the band.

Do you have the opportunity to participate some tim e in any rock festival in your country or out of this? Which band have you shared scenario?

F.N. - With Alhándal, last year we were in the Festival Chords of Rock, sharing scenario with a great cast of national and international bands. Also, with relative frequency we have the pleasure to open up for Medina Azahara, one of the pioneer groups of the unquestionable Andalusian and relating rock of the gender.

Without place to doubts, Spain is a country that it doesn't stop to surprise me. Because every day they go arising new bands, th at if, without forgetting to the big legends like Magician of Oz, Barricade, Angelus Stateless, Red Baron, among others. How do you see the scene of the rock at the moment in Spain?

J.Z. - Although there is a great number of bands of quality, the number of available scenarios it is limited rather. A culture of the homogeneous rock doesn't exist in the whole country, and there are regions in those that it is more complicated to play or to have a faithful public. Anyway, from the artistic point of view, the rock in Spain enjoys good health.

Many are the magazines dedicated completely to the rock. Some so famous ones as Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, The Heavy an d other not so famous. What opinion does it deserve you the paper that it plays these magazines like form of promoting to the rock bands so much well-known as not very well-known?

F.N. - The role of the means is decisive for the development of any cultural element, and the music in general, and the rock in particular, it cannot be less.

Future plans?

F.N. - Play, create, record, play, create and record …

Do you know something about the rock that is made i n Cuba?

J.Z. - We don't have the pleasure to be the so much of the Cuban rock, although yes of other genres, as the jazz. To me, particularly, I love style of Paquito de Rivera or Bebo Valdés.

If you have any time the opportunity to come to Cub a you will do it?

J.Z. - Of course, for us it would be a pleasure and authentic honor.

Page 15: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

Well, before finishing, something that you want to say to the Cuban public and all the followers of this magazine .

F.N. - That don't doubt in giving an opportunity to “Where the time begging” of Alhándal, a different proposal that drinks of different sources, begins and that it won’t leave indifferent to anybody.

New work of this consecrated and good Spanish band. A group that, CD after CD, it goes growing in sound and quality, in a complicated musical gender and, sometimes unknown, like it is the Andalusian Rock.

"Where it Begins The Time" it supposes a nut turn more to the sound and the way of making Rock that groups like Triana began, Boulevard, I Fell, Guadalquivir or Mosque; a pure Andalusian Rock, where it are flamenco, progressive elements and rock..

Alhándal is able to give to the album sweetness, nostalgia and beauty, through some virtuous compositions and full with energy. This way, I don't consider it a disk to listen to it quickly or while you leave to make sport, but a work to enjoy it calmed, and if it can be, with a glass of good came Spanish.

The literature of the songs counts us feelings, emotions, and it is accompanied by much taken care vocal harmonies, in a stupendous work of Yiyi Vega to the voice.

The music oozes the whole aroma of the folklore of a magic earth; Andalusian melodies, with that Arab touch so enigmatic, so mystic.

Great work also in that that to the graphic design and physical presentation refers, with a beautiful cover and a more than taken care libretto.

So, a great CD of these Spaniards that they are not allowed taking for the commercial thing, but rather they make what they like, and they also make well it.

Greetings to the members of NOISALIVE and be welcom e to this Cuban rock magazine. It is a pleasure can do it this inte rview.

To begin. Why the name of NOISALIVE? Some meaning e specially?

For us it is also a pleasure to be able to speak with you. The name of Noisalive comes from the game of words noise and alive. When joining them, phonetically it sounded us better for what we decide to eliminate the e. Both words describe us as musicians. It is our way to express the music; in a direct and overwhelming way since is a group that we like to sound mainly in direct.

When and where NOISEALIVE arises? Who are their cur rent members? From where do they come?

Noisalive is born in an amateur way in the year 2009. Several strangers that decide to form a group to enjoy the music carrying out covers like liking. With the step of the time, all the members of the original group abandon the formation for different reasons except our singer Luis, the one which, he/she decides to continue with the group trying to give a more professional version carrying out own compositions. For it, a process of search of members begins that lasts approximately two years, among 2012 2013, and it is in that time, when they incorporate for order Ernesto (guitar), Antonio (Battery) and finally

Influenced by big bands like Metallica, Anthrax and Kreator among other, NOISALIVE presents us an irresistible proposal for our hearings. Directly from Spain we receive this band to talk us about their beginnings, trajectory and other questions, everything in words of Luis Pascal, vocalist of the band.

Javier (bass). All they come from consecrated bands of the national environment as Green Manalishi, Gandalf or Attikusfinch.

How many CD do you have made up to now? How was it the edition process and recording?

In the year 2015 have carried out a first mini LP in study, including in the same several gives that we have with the purpose of being able to present a musical picture of what is Noisalive. This CD can be through internet in Bandcamp, youtube, Facebook etc.

The recording process was a great experience since we have had Alberto's invaluable collaboration Porres of studies K. The connection in

study it was immediate, we all understood the sound that we wanted to publish perfectly and the whole recording process was on wheels. Very amusing and spontaneous and we are charged with the result.

How you will define your music?

Our music is basically Metal; we like to think that it is not easily classifiable. Our music is direct, classic, without big orchestral conjectures, choirs, etc that is taken much now. We try them to be songs that sound for if same, to return to the concept of classic song of the eighty or ninety, more than a riffs group that last a time X that yes, maybe very technical, maybe very virtuous, but that finally it is difficult to identify as song in itself.

Which have the main influences of the group been wh en composing their songs?

Our influences basically come from the scenario of the metal, in the widest way, since our likes include thrash, heavy, progressive rock, black metal…

We have grown with Slayer, Judas Priest, Metallica, Testament, Kreator… that will tell you, along the years they have been able to us to influence hundred of groups… not alone those worldwide well-known, but also groups with a much smaller diffusion.

Page 18: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

Have you the opportunity to participate at some tim e in some rock festival in their country or outside of this? With which ban ds have shared scenario?

All our performances have been in our country, as the festival Arrikurock, with bands like Flitter, Boikot, and Radiocrimen. In previous formations we have also played in several national festivals, always big musical and personal experiences, and always in the environment of the rock and the metal that it is where we are truly to pleasure. In the month of September, the days 17, we will go to the Festival of the Mercat of the live music of Vic through the Associasió Odin's Rock Club Vic and we are already waiting adding an experience more to our backs.

I know on the work that GRP carries out and it is e xcellent. Why you decide to be part of this agency? What advantage do es it offer you?

GRP carries out a great work, it is a great support for us and it is always collaborating actively in the musical scene. We have clear that the love for the music of this stamp passes over the merely professional thing and this is a great bonus for musical groups as us, which we need a support that doesn't pursue only in an economic return, but to maintain the live music, and I believe that this GRP transmits it in a clear way. For us it has been fundamental this aspect.

How do you see the scene of the rock at the moment in Spain? Do you think that it goes in increase or just the opposite ?

The musical scene in Spain is very alive and it is noticed in the bestial quantity of festivals and national concerts that there is along the year in all our cities. This scene is almost completely amateur, since the conditions that exist today in day don't allow to be devoted from a professional way to the music, but something that we have clearing is that the music survives and he/she will survive all obstacles, barriers, it lacks of support, etc that exist, since the music is life, and with the life it cannot finish, it will always reborn.

What opinion does it deserve you the paper that it play the rock magazines (so much digital as printed) when promoti ng to the rock bands, be already known or not?

Today per today, the digital press and the digital platforms are fundamental to give promotion to the bands. There is an enormous quantity of publications that it allows that bands without economic possibilities of promotion have their opportunity of being heard by people. I believe that it is being key in that the music stays alive. The printed magazines, I believe that it is a more complicated topic, since in our country they respond to promotions in an economic way for that that alone it is to the reach some few ones that you don't improve them, but those that at the moment can pay it. The digital press balances the scale and it

Page 19: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

is of thanking because it was not for them, the visibility of the bands will be reduced vastly. Future plans?

Our plans are always based on the direct one, festivals, local, national and international concerts as well as to prepare our second study, for that which we are already working in new songs and we are very happy of the result that we are obtaining. We believe that it will sound bestial!!!!

Do you know something about the rock that is made i n Cuba?

We hope to be able to know it in situ having the pleasure to be able to share scenario with them. That is a way magnifies of knowing bands because not alone you know their music

If at some time you were given the opportunity to c ome to Cuba would you make it?

I believe that it is answered with the previous answer, of course. We are absolutely sure that it would be an unforgettable experience.

Well, before finishing, something that wants to say to the Cuban public and all the followers of this magazine.

To the public that reads you, we love them that the music, the rock and the metal are live thanks to them and that we will continue trying to make them enjoy the music while the body tolerated us.

Greetings to the members of Third Dim3nsion and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine. It is a pleasure to be able to carry out this interview.

To begin. Why the name of Third Dim3nsion? Some mea ning especially?

It would be brilliant to say that it has a brilliant meaning, but the certain thing was that it arose of a list of names. With the years it has gone catching soul and now it is not more than a place where there is music.

When and where does Third arise Dim3nsion? Who are their current members?

It arises in the night, with a beer in hand and a common friend that it introduces to Javier and Miguel Ángel. There José united to the bass, later on Sergio to the guitar and, years later, Jorge to the guitar and Elena to the keyboard. These are the six musicians that form Third at the moment Dim3nsion.

Third Dim3nsion is a band of Power Metal focused in the variant of German court. Until the moment they have recorded two CD, where they show an exceptional talent. But let us leave that Elena Alonso, pianist, be who puts us to the so much of the development of this band.

I had the opportunity to listen your third CD “Conspiracy Theory” and I tell you that it is brilliant. How would you define their music?

Third Dim3nsion jejeje. You can find a lot of touch of Power Classic Metal, but little by little it leaves allowing seeing the rest of influences that it go from the Hard Rock to the Japanese Symphonic Metal. Total anything.

Until now you have published two CD “Were the Dragon lies” and “Conspi racy Theory". Comments us something about the productions of thes e two CD. Do you already have some video that accompanies this last production?

We are working in the visual support of Conspiracy Theory. At the moment we have the videolyric of available Sacrifice in Youtube, and we are working in the videoclip of the homonymous topic. The production of both Cds has run in charge of Miguel Ángel Monsoon, our singer and producer that, we think, it has made an exceptional work.

Which have the main influences of the group been wh en composing their songs?

Without a doubt there are three pillars: Helloween, Avantasia and Iron Maiden. Groups like Edguy or Stratovarius also have a lot to see as for the concept of the CD.

Spain is a country of where big rock bands have com e out, as Magician of Oz, Barricade, Red Baron, among others. Bands that have put the name of the rock on high. How do you see the scene of the r ock in Spain today in day?

Complicated, as all sides. But we don't desist. We have a dream that is to share our music with the whole people that want to be part of her, and we believe that it is possible. Little by little they go being the archaic thoughts behind that the groups are competition; leave fraternity and combined fight beyond the interest. Little by little, I pass to step.

Page 22: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

Do you have the opportunity to participate at some time in some rock festival in your country or outside of this? With w hich bands have shared scenario?

We participate in the festival Granite Rock, of which keep a big memory, with bands like Fifth Amendment (current Phoenix Rising), Mr. Mammut, Jorge Salán or Earth Santa. We have also recently participated in the festival toys of the rock with SilverFist, Legend, Sacred Rock Band and many more bands. We have been very lucky in that respect, since we have been able to share scenario with big friends. We have also participated in several parties of the Granite Rock, of which we conserve good moments.

What opinion does it deserve you the paper that it play the magazines, be already digital or printed, like form of promoting to the rock bands so much well-known as unknown?

Essential. All contribution to the Rock and Metal is essential. A lot of people read them, and, although was 3, at those 3 we owe them a lot, because they are part of our musical family". It is an ecosystem, if the bands, rooms, promoters and magazines don't lean on among us, we will disappear.

Future plans?

To rotate with Conspiracy Theory for all Spain. We have several dates confirmed along the autumn.

If at some time you were given the opportunity to c ome to Cuba would you make it?

To make the suitcase and to go to the airport running! It would be a wonderful opportunity that we hope to be able to have in the future.

Well, before finishing, something that you want to say to the Cuban public and all the followers of this magazine.

That you are wonderful. Thank you for the support that we receive of there, and if you don't still know us, to dare to enter in our dim3nsion. We hope not to defraud them.

Greetings to the members of Scape 7´13 and be welco me to this rock magazine. It is a pleasure can interview you.

To begin. Why the name of Scape 7´13? Some special meaning?

Greetings my siblings, thank you for this space that today is giving us in its magazine for us are a honor to be able to share that we make and what we are since as band this it would be another step that we will give in our trajectory like musicians and again thank you, I wait it is of its pleasure this interview.

To begin in our beginnings like all band that complicated it is to find a name that it identifies first to the band like such, their members and the style in which it are fenced to unwrap we had many names in mind to the beginning but none fulfilled all that we looked for until we received SCAPE which we take for what represents the word it was liberal something without frontier feels this way making music you liberate; when we play we liberate ourselves of pressures, concerns escape from the reality for that moment and in a same way we want to achieve the same thing with people that listens to us well it is live or in a CD that

What began as a simple school project (2006) it became a band later, at the beginning they began singing covers of local bands until one year later they are given to know professionally. From Merida, we receive Venezuela Scape 7´13 to comment us on its emergence, development and other questions. All the questions were responded by the members of the band.

you are liberated of everything by that moment that you escape from the reality with us that alone it is the music who fills us; of there SCAPE arises.

But we could not leave it needed this way a decoration so that we gave him the same as the music melody and style, were there where we were happened to mix numbers that represent for many good luck in this case the 7 and another that represents for some bad you vibrate that it would be the 13. We unite both like to balance in this point the luck of the band, with it we would already have the concluded name and we gave this way ourselves to know as: SCAPE 7´13. Who are the current members of the band? From where do they proceed?

Our band was created by 4 young students of the secondary school: Luis David Santiago {guitar}, Leonardo Gonzales {bass}, Oscar the Rosa {drummer} and Yonathan Becerra {voice}

But as all band or musical group all the members’ founders very rarely remain the whole road in the alignment like such, or simply in occasions other members are entered adding other instruments to improve the sound.

For our band many members have passed during every year like group, in a same way members founders they have retired as it is it the case of our guitarist David who arrived until the year 2013.

Page 25: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

Soon after this the band had a change of integral and a rotation as for instrument; since our drummer Oscar accent the ramrods to be unwrapped in the guitar occupying our friend's position David, taking place in the battery a new member {Ronald Guerrero}. This way the new and modified alignment of SCAPE is completed 7´13

At the moment: Leonardo Gonzales {bass}, Oscar La Rosa {guitar}, Ronald Guerrero {drummer} and Yonathan Becerra {voice}

All descendants of our town The Stone-Merida Venezuela.

How many CD do you have recorded up to now? How was it the process of edition and recording?

Our band has two study works; the first titled SCAPE 7'13 that it was recorded in the year 2009 which possesses 6 unpublished topics, engravings in the study ' LEO RECORS' in the city of Merida.

It was a very touching process since in all their senses it was our first time in a study recording our own topics, it was a unique experience to live those first moments giving that step like band.

With this first recording work we are given our first video clip of one of our titled topics one second more", which was recorded in our town in the year 2010 for Homero Albarrán who carried out their work in a TV channel near the community. With this it was two big steps that our band took since this way we entered in the social nets and all that includes the publication and presentation by means

Page 26: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

of internet; that which helped us a lot to give to already know the band and our works with a time of rest new compositions came, created new topics with those that for the year 2011 enter again to recording study.

With this second work we were a little calmer because we already had knowledge as for the recording process and edition, the same one was titled MOMENTS, it has 11 unpublished topics thanks to this work the band it obtained a turn as for the sound that we brought from the beginning; placing some weight as for instruments and voice giving him a little an aspect metal/core since the musical style that was arising in our country was the metal in all its styles and somehow we had to mix in this gender with which we classify ourselves as metalcore band / alternative.

At the moment we are in process of what would be our third study work for which we would be executing at the end of this year God by means of.

Which have the main influences of the band been whe n composing your songs?

We have had great quantity of bands that influenced us so much from our beginnings to form the band like for the composition of each one of our topics.

We have great variety since each one of us we bring and we have musical likes as soon as some bands, for what helps us and it makes us contribute ideas different to the moment of composing offering that ideal sound for us and for all that that we listens and it supports our work.

Among those influences in general have: Metallica, Slipknot, Foot Fighters, Nirvana, Panther, AC/DC, Scorpion, Killswitch Engage, Asking Alexandria and Guns and roses, among many more.

In general we have a very wide musical extension as for goods and musical styles.

Which thematic you approach in your songs?

In general when composing we not always center ourselves in an alone one thematic we always want to make music with different sense. Our center is that we like to make music with diverse topics those that we define as ''double way'' that is to say that each who it will interpret it to its way.

The thematic ones that we usually use in our topics are of love but not alone among couple; in the same way we speak of the life and something that it cannot lack in this musical style as it is it the rock, the topics of rebelliousness.

But in if we are very diverse to compose we don't close in a single idea we make music for all: children, adolescents, adults, until old men. We also look for to play with the melody and musical style we have topics from soft until those stronger ones with the intention of arriving to all those musical likes that each who it has, SCAPE works this way 7'13.

Page 27: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

Do you have the opportunity to participate in some festival, as much in their country as outside of the same one? With whic h bands have shared scenario?

During all our trajectory like band we have had great quantity of live presentations so much in festivals as private in a same way we have had the opportunity to share scenario with big bands of our country.

Among the most remarkable festivals we can name; a cultural festival / traditional that is carried out every year in our town this it embraces the culture in all their branches and in the one that we have the opportunity to share platform with non alone artists of the gender rock. We had the opportunity to participate here in one of the best festivals in the city of Merida in called Venezuela ' Brutal Fest' in which participate bands of different cities of Venezuela, in this we share scenario next to the bands: Sickfeel of Caracas, The trooper (Merida) and Hoggish Grinder (Merida). Among other festivals in those that we present to the outskirts of our city was ''Brujo Metal Fest'' which was carried out in the city of Barinas - Venezuela where we participate also bands at national level, in this festival shares platform with big national bands as Lethal Weapon (City Bolivar) Taunot (Caracas) Dismorfic (Fixed Point) and Nabarao (Barinas).

SCAPE 7'13 have had great activity here in the live scene in our country, until the moments we have not had the opportunity to leave to festivals outside of our country but it is something in what we are centered; we hope soon we receive that great opportunity to be able to take our work to other frontiers. We know that our music has been listened in other countries but our dream is to have the

Page 28: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

opportunity some day to leave our country to take the good Venezuelan rock further on.

You come from Venezuela, a country of the one that little it is known about the rock that there is made. How do you see t he scene of the rock at the moment? Some band that you could recommend us?

Venezuela has had one moved a little in the gender rock slow as for projection of bands at level of market foreigner for what very few bands are known outside of our country, this makes that the one moved of the rock it is not very well-known or commented however in other countries in the last years it has had great growth at national level; numerous bands have gone arising in all the goods that it goes from the rock-pop one to the death metal and black metal.

In the same way in that the scene of the rock has grown in our country as for bands they have also been come creating diverse festivals at national level, that which has been of great help since this allows that the bands leave their garages, of those four rehearsal walls and show its talent.

Today in day we would say that the one moved of the rock in our country has taken a great level in the last years. With this we are looking for the projection at foreign level, I know that there are many producers working in that and many independent bands as the case of us that also somehow are to open up step to another country; we believe in our work and we have the faith that we will be accepted the day that we leave our country, in that way it will be given to know more the scene of our Venezuelan rock outside of house.

And good one of the bands to which we would like to recommend is the band Letal Weapon , a Venezuelan band of City Bolivar with which we have had the pleasure of sharing scenario. Talented and very good band in their style thrash metal.

What opinion does it deserve you the paper that it plays these magazines like form of promoting to the rock bands so much we ll-known as not very well-known?

We really believe that if was not for the media like radio, internet, tv and magazines the musical culture would not be anything and less those that are beginning in this world of the music. For that reason the bands are worth us to you to take into account, to take a lot of people the information on all those well-known bands and mainly of those new bands of those that very little it is known. And in the personal thing we feel very honest for this opportunity, for this space that today offered us in its magazine. We feel very happy of giving to know our band since outside of our country this it would be a great advance for us.

Means like that of you is that it needs the scene of the rock to go projecting more and more, we congratulate them for their work siblings..!

Page 29: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

Future plans?

Among our plans to future have the recording of our third study work in which we are working from already.

But our biggest plan to future in which are placing our goal, is to get the opportunity to leave to play outside of our country that it would be our north, to be able to conquer other frontiers.

Do you know something about the rock that is made i n Cuba?

Clearing has some knowledge on the one moved of the rock in vat, we are not so deepened but if we have had the opportunity to listen the work of some Cuban bands as the case of Zeus or Hypnosis in a same way other groups, not alone in the moved since rockera we consider ourselves very open as for musical style, we always try to listen different goods in a same way we look for to hear great band diversity mainly the foreigners.

We try to listening the rock made in all the different countries since this helps us a lot to go growing more as musicians and I eat band. We also have knowledge of big festivals made there in vat in which we would like to be able to visit.

If at some time you were given the opportunity to come to Cuba would you make it?

Of course that yes, we would be loved him since previously we commented that one of our goals is to be able to go to play to another place outside of Venezuela and if that place was Cuba it would be something only and I believe that

this it is an advance to go entering to that public Cuban rockero, we would like our topics to sound there hey to go winning some followers for that some way to make some alliance or anything so that SCAPE 7'13 step Cuban earth.

Well, before finishing, something that you want to say to the Cuban public and all the followers of this magazine.

Good before anything else we want to thank to their magazine for this offered space, we are really very grateful for the opportunity of entering for the first time to their country in this case through this interview. Waiting that soon we make it but presenting live our music in their country.

We want to give a greeting to that whole beautiful people, people of rock there in Cuba. Brutal public raising the one moved of the good rock waiting in some opportunity to put them to rockear full that the rock made in house that the Cuban rock lives.

When Adam Wilkes was born in Woodstock it had spent more than a decade of the celebration of the mythical festival of the era hippie that placed in the map to that American town. However, Adam always had present the cultural symbolism of its origins that has accompanied him in its creative experiences as president in Asia of the entertainment company AEG Live, the company

that organized the celebrated concert of the Rolling Stones in Cuba.

Wilkes was the representative of AEG Live that was behind the concert of its Satanic Majesties in the Island, a landmark that Wilkes ends up comparing with the spirit of Woodstock'69. there are many big concerts, but among that long list there are some that become for its symbolism historical events, like it happened first to Woodstock'69 and almost 50 years later with the concert of the Rolling Stones in Cuba."

Adam was in Havana from January to prepare next to the Cuban authorities the historical concert that it will be able to be seen the next September 23 in the cinemas of the world. The band will give its rights for its exhibition in the Island, according to the Cuban Institute of the Music (ICM). we Came for the first time in December for a very quick meeting with the ICM. It was a very positive meeting and it gave us the sensation that all together will achieve that the concert was given.

Personally I returned in January during one week and together with my team we stay until the show finished. The team grew up to 100 people. And at the end they were 350 people that traveled to prepare the concert. We had the Cuban government's tremendous support, of the ICM and of other organizations that participated in the event. This was the biggest concert in the world in the last ten years. Although it was very important for Cuba I feel that it was a global event."

How AEG Live saw the Cuban public's answer and the possibility of working in Cuba?

AEG Live is one of the entertainment companies bigger than the world. The main house is in The Ángeles but we have offices in all the regions. We have experience working in different countries and in many different situations.

“The concert of the Rolling in Cuba was one of the best of the world”

To this way it was affirmed by Adam Wilkes, president in Asia of the entertainment company AEG Live who organized the celebrated concert of the Rolling Stones in Cuba. (Published in Granma newspaper August 2nd)

Page 32: Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock …thedeaddaisies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Metal-for-your-Veins... · Greetings Brian and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine

Specifically I manage the office of Asia and I am resided in Shanghái. When we begin to prepare the concert in Cuba they existed many details that we ignored of both parts, because a concert of this magnitude had never been given in the Island. And we had to make it at one time very tight. That show type usually organizes it with 12 or 18 months of planning but this project was carried out in less than three months.

What expectations did you have before the concert?

Before the concert we didn't know what it will happen. Personally every time that I understood more envelopes a little the Cuban culture I was moved more the idea of the concert. Of course this transmitted it to the band, but until they were not here they could not understand what it was everything. The band travels with a group of people that you/they have accompanied her during many years. There are people that you have been 30 years or more with them. Then they have a lot of experience preparing concerts of the Rolling and for the band and their family and their managers the concert was one of the best of the world.

How did you perceive the potentialities of Cuba to welcome this type of mega concerts?

We are very fortunate that that concert has been carried out at this time of the history because the things are changing starting from the reestablishment of the diplomatic relationships between Cuba and United States. When carrying out it we established a starting point and it is difficult to know for where this road goes, but it is clear that there is an important work for before. The Rolling Stones is a group that guides other artists and we are sure that other big bands will come.

Why did you choose the scenario of the Sport City?

We think of a couple of places for the concert. It was necessary to look for one that fulfilled the specific requirements, it was adjusted at the limited time that we had and it could harbor to a great quantity of people. We found that the Sport City was perfect. Speaking of scenarios for next shows believes that Havana has wonderful leases.

But if we speak from similar concerts to that of the Rolling the Sport City it is excellent.

AEG Live McCartney works with artists like Paul, Ri ngo Star, Coldplay, Marc Anthony, and Maroon 5. Do you have plans to or ganize these big musicians' concerts in Cuba?

We really work with many artists. It moves me a lot to talk with them about the opportunities that we saw in Cuba and to look for mechanisms so that they can come. I have had several dreams that I wait that they can be made reality.

But Cuba also has a talent characteristic of world level that a great part of the world doesn't know. There is a great opportunity so that the Cuban artists are presented in other parts of the world like America of the North and Europe. The global community of the music is fascinated with Cuba, a country that can be perfectly headquarters of those big festivals that are given in Europe and United States and that they attract people of the whole planet.

In spite of their fame of hard rockeros, the boys of Rammstein don't see this way each other in the pictures. Their first CD, "Herzeleid" (Pain of the heart), it treated topics like the infantile abuse in “Weisses Fleisch" (“White Meat"), the necrofilia in "Heiratemich" (Marry with me), everything dewed with hard riffs, a battery without compassion and an electronic sound that it took them to the position 6 in the ranking. The band was founded in 1995, and in 1997 the fame arrived with "Engel" , a videoclip that went by MTV and LIVE. It was inspired by the film of Tarantino "From Dusk Till Dawn". The second album, “Sehnsucht" (I Want); it won a CD of Platinum. Rammstein much not sold alone in Germany, but also in EE. UU: Gold for a million copies. And at the end of the video “MeinLand” (My country, 2011), the cheerful beach party concludes to the typical dark style of the group: with fire and expensive unpleasant. Review of the CD "Conspiracy Theory" of Third Dim3n sion

Conspiracy Theory is the title of the second album of the band from Madrid of power metal Third Dim3nsion, successor of its premiere of 2014 "Where The Dragon Lies", with which they opened up road inside the style in a very convincing way.

With their new work, in which the same main characters have intervened, that is: Miguel Angel (voice), Basque Sergio and Jorge Baeza (guitars), Javi (drummer) and José bass) to who it is necessary to add to the keyboard Elena Alonso, Third Dim3nsion bets for the continuity, staying that is to say in the parameters that already determined its first recording, unquestionable bonds with the power metal of German billing, characteristic of bands like Masterplan, Helloween or Gamma Ray.

Consequently, we are before an album of exuberant instrumentation and plethoric voices, with Miguel Angel exhibiting an enviable lung capacity during the whole album, without forgetting the presence of rolling guitars and a potent rhythmic machinery.

Conspiracy Theory is an album where it prevails the homogeneity and the group about the individualities, this doesn't impede that in "Last Survivors" a suggestive one appears alone of guitar or that in "Lanres Revenge" a recurrent and quick riff is erected as main character, supported by a crushing battery as well as for intoxicant melodies.

Under the previous premises, we are defining most of songs of Conspiracy Theory with more or less variations, what determines the solidity of their content ratified with examples like, "Sacrifice", "Conspiracy Theory", "Nexus 6" or "Gate To The Stars", until completing a work of motley solidity to which also contributes the sophisticated presence of the keyboards in charge of Elena.

Inside the vitality and the grandiloquence that it distills the disk, it doesn't lack space to include a typical power ballad like complement, in this low case the title of Tears And Thorns". Piece that finishes in an impeccable way with another vibrant demonstration with the extensive "From Ashes" that includes an interesting dynamics change.
