Greetings! 1) Men’s Small Group, “REAL MEN PRAY”
I am so excited to announce that we will have a small group for men! The small group will begin in the first week of March, and meet once a week. Jerry Bartlett and David Zimmerman are the co-facilitators for the small group. They will generally meet at the church, but sometimes they will go out to meet at a coffee shop or a restaurant for brunch, or under the tree at a park! They will study, “REAL MEN PRAY” SERIES first. Personally I like the title of the study. This is not a thick book with difficult topics. This book is easy to read, and will open a safe space to share your lives and faith in Christ with other men! I am really looking forward to having this small group flourish and members of this small group grow in Christ together.
Time and date will be discussed later. If you are interested in joining the group, please contact me, Jerry Bartlett or David Zimmerman.
2) Parsonage Open House Mark your calendar on Feb. 21 (Tue.) @ 6:30pm! The third Tuesday of every month is the AD council day, so I really encourage all church leaders to come to the parsonage for the AD Council meeting! Team Trinity will also join the meeting at the same time. Since the AD Council meetings are open to the public, everyone is more than welcome to come! We will have AD Council business meeting (hopefully shortly), and talk about our church and ministry in 2017. Please come and share what you dream about for our church in 2017, what you want to see in our ministry, or what you feel like we are missing... whatever you want to share! This will be a casual meeting just sharing what we think, so it will be fun! I will order pizza for dinner (I thought about cooking for you, but didn’t want to poison you with that food.), but if you want to contribute some with a salad, sodas, or anything else, please let me know. They will be a great addition to our meeting! 3) MBTI Personality Training Also mark your calendar on Mar. 4 (Sat), 10 am-noon We will have a guest speaker, Dr. Meg Park for this training. Dr. Park has earned her doctoral degree at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary concentrating on Pastoral Theology, Personality and Culture. Currently she’s serving First United Methodist Church of Oak Park, Oak Park, IL as Director of Christian Education and is a certified MBTI instructor. It is a leadership training, so all Church leaders please mark your calendar and join us. Also it will be a great opportunity for those who want to know who you are and what potential you have through the lens of MBTI. If you would like to join us, please contact me. I will give you a test sheet in advance, so that you can finish the test before the training! (MBTI: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is the most and widely used personality assessment test in the world. It is designed to help people gain insights about themselves and how they interact with others-and improve how they communicate, learn, and work. It provides a powerful framework for building better relationships, driving positive change, harnessing innovation, and achieving excellence. https://www.cpp.com/products/mbti/index.aspx)
Whoa, it looks like we will have a busy month. If you have questions about any of the
evens above, don’t hesitate to call, text, or email me! I wish you have great February with God’s abundant blessings!
With Love, Sophia
