At the point where the boundaries of objectivity are being shattered, a world of unconstrained inspiration and creativity begins. Sometimes, we consciously steal moments from our lives in an attempt to turn them into a dream. Other times, unconsciously, we peek through the dream in attempt to understand where we belong to. The photographer, like every artist, is a thief and creator at the same time, in a world without boundaries.

The following portfolio includes some of this year’s yield pictures, which I captured in my -not as many as it used to be- walks, mainly in the city centre of Thessaloniki. The photography that I seek can be found in places with enough light and variety of different motions, but of course without rejecting static subjects such as shop windows etc.

Metaphors receives its name from the Athens public transport network (Μεταφοραί). The series was conceived as a series of drifts by bus through the city of London. During the month of May 2009, every day I took the corresponding bus to that day with the intention of knowing the city better than I did. This small selection of photos of a body of work of more than 1200 is a mere glimpse to what I saw, or at least what I tried to see. The everyday cannot be captured or measured, so whilst I shot my camera, it slipped between my fingers, impossible to be portrayed.

In Greece, there are just a few amusement parks left. Year by year their lights turn off, one by one, their carusels are slowing down and their music stops playing. Many people work in these places. It’s a kind of job but they are not entertainers or artist to continue someplace else, so if their amusement park seize to exist, their “life” stops as well.

Can be the life after birth? What it will be? I am sure I was not the only one to ask himself this question. The answer was yes, but the life would never be the same. I found myself caring about somebody delicate, vulnerable, and pure. I can hardly imagine myself before this wonderful event. I joined millions of parents trying to imprint the precious moments and to carry them over to the future. Let it be just another family album – I don’t care. I am documenting the life of one human being starting from after the birth

Milonga is an Argentinian and Uruguayan form of tango music, but also the term for the place where this tango is danced. Most milongas are held on a regular basis, usually weekly and they often begin with dancing classes. Usually three to five songs of a kind are played in a row (tanda) followed by a short musical break (cortina) to clear the dancefloor and facilitate partner changes. Due to the strict assembly ban imposed by the military government, milongas almost disappeared from Buenos Aires. Nevertheless, since the beginning of the nineties, the tango culture in Buenos Aires has undergone dynamic development and today one can choose from between fifteen and thirty different milongas every day. Milonga uses the same basic elements as tango, but requires a greater relaxation of legs and body. Movement is normally faster, and pauses are not made. It is rather a kind of rhythmic walking without complicated figures, with a more ‘rustic’ style than tango. Some of the photographs were made in ‘la Confiteria Ideal’, an old fashioned milonga where dances are held afternoons and evenings, almost every day of the week. Confiteria Ideal was the setting for films like ‘The Tango Lesson’ and ‘Evita’.
