Are you a handyman who loves tools? Head down to the newly opened Men’s Shed in Greystanes and be surrounded with great company, plenty of jobs and a go-to place for some time out from everyday routines.

The Men’s Shed is a not-for-profit group of men who meet, socialise, support and contribute together to ‘hands-on’ projects, community work and networking. Since opening its doors earlier this year at the former-Hyland Road Youth Centre, the Men’s Shed have had numerous members join.

The organisation encourages locals to drop in to have an opportunity to work on your own project, to learn from others or to share your skills and help keep

the Shed going. Activities include woodworking as well as restoring, repairing and refurbishing works.

Build a chair, learn to use ‘big boy toys’ or experiment with your own craft at your own convenience.

The Men’s Shed is open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 3pm. For $20 a year, Men’s Shed gives you access to all programs and activities, including use of a wide range of equipment and training in how to use it. The cost also includes access to social programs and subsidized outings and events.

What’s happening at your local Swim CentreWhether you prefer a chilly morning dip, a swim in the heated pool or a fun spot for the kids to have a splash, the Guildford Swimming Centre caters to all your aquatic needs.

This past quarter has seen a 31% increase in attendance at our local pools compared to 2018.

Guildford Swim Centre is open all

year round and offers 3 heated pools (indoor, outdoor and baby pool).

The Centre offers a range of learn to swim programs and group fitness classes.

Recently, Guildford Swim Centre hosted a free learn-to-swim program, funded by Royal Life Saving. Close to 100 people participated in the program which

promotes inclusion and safety in the pool.
