MiCOM Alstom P740 Central Unit: Trip Logic
CU Tripping Logic decisions (for Zone and Check Zone):
• “Instantaneous Algorithm”:If 2 consecutive samples verify tripping condition
(are above (ID>2) and k x Ibias) AND no CT Saturation detected
• “Delayed Algorithm”*:If all samples verify tripping condition (are all
above (ID>2) and k x IBias) during 5.8 ms AND at least one sample does not verify it in the previous 3.3 ms AND at least one sample verified it in the previous 4,2 ms (i.e. an internal fault is detected if a differential current is detected on 2 consecutive half-periods)
*: never affected by the CT saturation blocking information. This logic is used especially for evolving fault (external to internal bus fault)
