Class
The Little Peasant and The Six Servants tell of the property-less class, as
described by Weber. The little peasant doesnt even own a cow, and the six servants all
seem to be va abonds. The Six Servants does a ood !ob of representin different
"inds of labor within this class. They all can perform speciali#ed, s"illed labor as
opposed to $ns"illed labor.
Little %ne &ye is a bit stran e. They wo$ld seem to be in a lower class b$t we
arent certain $ntil the "ni ht shows $p. &ven tho$ h the sisters have property, the
"ni ht clearly has more. The royalty thro$ ho$t the tales is always the hi hest class.
Little %ne &ye also shows Webers theory of comm$nal action, '( comm$nal action is
oriented on the basis of a shared belief of affiliation.) %ne &ye and Three &yes thin" that
Two &yes is the o$tlier and treat her poorly beca$se of it, b$t it is simply beca$se they
"now nothin else. *n the reater scheme of thin s, Two &yes is act$ally the normal
one.
+ans the +ed eho shows a middle class. There is property and money b$t no
royalty in +ans ori inal ho$sehold. There are royals in the story b$t the class lines are
somewhat distorted by +ans power. +is social actions ive him an advanta e and allow
him to have what he needs. +ans event$ally become royalty.
