Safety ValvesAs “ Safety Valves” are now mandated throughout the United States, GROHE thermostatic temperature control valves and pressure balance valves insure maximum bathing safety for everyone in your household.

What is a Safety Valve?We’ve all been there before. You’ve juststepped under your nice hot shower whensomeone else in the house either turnson a faucet or flushes the toilet; suddenlythe temperature of your shower plummetsto freezing cold or becomes scalding hot –leaving you with soap in your eyes as youtry to manually adjust the temperatureback to a comfortable level. While styleand versatility are important when itcomes to planning a new bathroom, so issafety...and particularly important for smallchildren, physically disabled people, andelderly people. Safety valves prevent the temperature shocks associated with accidental scalding and falls in the shower.

GROHE offers two options in Safety Valvetechnology: Thermostatic TemperatureControl Valves and Pressure BalanceValves. With GROHE you can be sure of asafe and enjoyable showering experienceevery time.

Thermostatic Temperature ControlThermostatic valves work by constantlymixing hot and cold water to a pre-selectedtemperature. No matter what effects thewater supply to your shower (temperatureor pressure), the thermostat reacts byrecalibrating the quantities of hot and coldwater required to maintain the correct temperature. For convenience, peace ofmind and economy all in one, a thermostatis a must.

Why choose GROHE?GROHE TurboStat® technology meansinstantaneous, precise water temperaturecontrol. Accurate to within 1° Fahrenheit,temperature is selected by dialing thetemperature handle to a setting within the70° to 110° comfort zone. High-Flow AdvantageIt takes more than average performanceto supply ample water volume to today’sexpansive custom shower installations. AGROHE 3/4” thermostat valve is perfectlysuited to meet the demands of large multiple-head custom shower systems.Given adequate water pressure, the 3/4”Grohtherm “high flow” valve, for example,can supply enough water to simultaneouslypower a shower head, a personal handshower, and up to four body sprays whileautomatically maintaining a specific water temperature at each outlet.

Aquatower®

1000 and 2000Designed for maximum performance in a compact package, the Aquatower 1000 and 2000 deliver the luxury and convenience of a custom shower to almost any shower enclosure. The easy-to-install shower system enhances thefunctionality and value of a bathroom with minimal effort and without renovation headaches.

Featuring GROHE DreamSpray® technology, the Aquatower 1000 combines two individually adjustable multi-jet bodysprays with the Tempesta Trio hand shower. The Aquatower 2000 includes a Sensia Top 4 hand shower, three bodysprays, and a silky brushed-metal finish.

Both systems include a thermostat valve for shower safety and ample water flow, an adjustable height shower bar,Aquadimmer transfer valve for shower outlet selection, and a shampoo/accessory tray. Installation requires little morethan connecting the unit to the hot and cold water supplies and attaching it to the shower wall using two screw-inanchor points.

What about the drain?It may seem obvious, but the more wateryour shower flows the larger the drainrequired. It could be that you'll need twodrains to cope with the amount of waterthat needs to be carried away.

Will I have enough hot water?This is determined by the capacity of yourhot water tank. Check that your tank is bigenough to handle the amount of hot wateryou'll need. There is no point in having alarge number of water outlets if there'snothing but cold water after a couple ofminutes. Make sure your water heater output is sufficiently matched to yourshowering habits.

How do I control all of the outlets?Custom showers are generally designed with separate volume (on/off)controls for each outlet or bank of outlets.Typically, one for the showerhead, one forthe hand shower and one for the bodysprays.

Before you start planning your customshower there are a few important thingsyou should consider to ensure your newshower will work efficiently and be apleasure to use.

How many showers can I combine?Grohe's extensive range of products canall be combined in numerous ways toaccommodate your custom shower. Doyou require one or two hand showers?How many body sprays would you like, andwhere do you want to position them?Perhaps you would prefer one large over-head shower surrounded by lots of bodysprays. The combinations are limited onlyby your imagination. Keep in mind, however,that your two restrictions are your waterpressure and the maximum flow rate ofthe thermostat – your GROHE expert will beable to help you add up the flow rates ofeach individual shower piece and checkthat the total does not exceed the maximum capacity of the thermostaticvalve.

Which thermostatshould I choose?You should always use a GROHE thermostatic valve, for a safe and comfortable shower. Again, a GROHEshower expert can advise you on the bestmodel to suit your requirements.
