    DRAC Intent

Mindful of CGSs Strategic Intent, I will continue

to reinforce and develop the enduring utility of

the Armoured Corps throughout the spectrum of

conflict and across the epochswe must think

of current and future operations in a continuumnot discrete actions maintaining its primacy in

MCC, GMMR and CBRN. I will provide expert,

relevant and timely professional advice on

MCC, GMMR and CBRN and the Armoured

Corps in general. I will engage with allappropriate elements to further the Armoured

Corps interests, taking into account wider

    defence issues.

    SSUN:

Brigade Commanders require a robust, agile and high-quality sub-unitable to operate independently for extended periods, across the AO and, where appropriate, with the Afghan National Army.

    Statement of Purpose:

    Primary Secondary

Conduct FIND tasks, in order to be able

    to develop the Commanders

    understanding of the human and

    physical terrain and inform decision

making. It must be able to act overtly

or covertly and fight for information if

    required.

Conduct Strike operations in order to

    exploit tactical opportunities, or

enable other operations. Act as a 2nd

    echelon force for shorter periods

    able to reinforce rapidly, conduct

    manoeuvre tasks, or temporarily hold

    ground.

BRF Strength (relative to FR) FR Strength (relative to BRF)

Dismounted Ops. The BRFs majorstrength lies in its suitability for a wide

    variety of dismounted ops.

MVT. The BRFs combination ofdismounted skills is particularly suited to

    targeting MVT.

Endurance Ops at Reach. CVR(T) hasa high logistic burden cf. Jackal. The

BRF is often better-suited to endurancetasks at reach.

Posture. Jackal has a less aggressiveposture than CVR(T), which may help

    with soft engagement tasks.

Mounted Recce. (CVR(T)equipped) FR is better

    suited to recce tasks that

are predominately mounted.CVR(T) has much better

    day and night sights.

Mounted Combat. In someterrain and tactical

situations, CVR(T) armourand gun provide a better

    capability than Jackal.

I am very pleased to say that the vehiclesperformed superbly and delivered excellentavailability (100%) throughout. It wasutilised extensively as a Recce, FireSupport, CASEVAC, Comms and CoyREPLEN platform. Put simply, Op PP2would have failed without it.
