The start of the group work Age groups (which age group or none) Multicultural or not Different view points (using the

multicultural group to give different opinions about the same fact)

Do we want them to learn the languages

Page 4: Group 3 presentation Kathrine Juuso Christin Anja Dovile

Situation (background) A group of people who do not

understand each other Can’t speak English, just there mother

tongue

Page 5: Group 3 presentation Kathrine Juuso Christin Anja Dovile

Silly Rules Everyone does not understand English Can only use the pyramid (symbolic,

iconic and inactive ways of communicating)

Page 6: Group 3 presentation Kathrine Juuso Christin Anja Dovile

The goal of the lecture (vision) The groups should learn how to cooperate with

each other without knowing the languages Be initiative, not afraid to communicate using

any methods that would help them to achieve the set goals

Have better group skills The individual and overall goals (achievement) Gain the understanding and importance of

cooperation between cultures Cultural and home values

How do we do that? Every lecturer speaks in his/her own language Has to be really clear to instruct others Has to manage the multicultural group to

cooperate with each other 5 tasks in 5 different languages for 4 groups Using 4 or 5 different learning styles Having in mind the individual and overall

goals Group skills and multicultural groups

Dovile suggestion Going outside Some exercise (just don’t know yet what kind

of :D I think it should be about 15 to 20 min for

each of us that we would have some time to reflect on what was good/easy or difficult/bad

Maybe have some cooperative tasks (that everyone would have to do in the non multi cultural groups like a presentation to others about something, using the students that they could try to explain the facts (tasks) to the other groups without the English language
