A symbol is anything that carries meaning regconized by a people who shares a cultures.

Examples: a word, whistle, a wall of graffiti. A flashing of red light

In US- fur coat represent a prized symbol of success but to others it represent the inhumane treatment of animals

Western societies write from left to right but Asian people from top to bottom

Values are abstract standard of goodness, that individual consider true or false

Most of US adults share the value of providing equal opportunity for all

They believe that a qualified woman can serve as president

Most people in US are eager to gossip about who’s hot and who’s not

Member of American-Indian will condemn such behaviour as rude and devicive
