• The more groups players were members of before the programme transition, the more likely they were to: – (a) maintain those group memberships after the transition, – (b) identify with the new group and other group members, – (c) maintain their psychological well-being, and – (d) maintain their performance.

• 127 cricketers:– 110 male and 17 female.– 14-19 years old (M = 16.32, SD = .87 years).
