GROUP EXERCISE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS The best way to decide on a class is to visit various classes. Each instructor has his/her own style and therefore adds vari-

ance to the class descriptions. All classes are drop in. If a class gets cancelled we have library of fitness videos available at the Welcome Center for members to use. The YMCA reserves the right to cancel, change instructors or eliminate a class

without notice. A minimum average attendance of 8 participants is needed to continue to offer a class.

STEP Uses the Reebok Step, 4, 6 or 8 inch platform. Lots of choreography. GROUP POWER® 60 min. barbell class that strengthens all your major muscles in an inspiring, motivating group environment with fantastic music and awesome instructors. For all ages and fitness levels.

ZUMBA® Come try the hottest dance craze sweeping the country. Easy to follow steps, set to all different types of music. Prepare to sweat.. Quickie is only 30 minutes.

CORE 30 minute class focusing on the core muscles, abs and back. Utilizes a variety of equipment. GROUP CORE® Let’s get Hard Core! Train like an athlete in 30 action-packed mins. Work your core, front to back, shoulders to hips, improve athletic performance, prevent back pain, and get ripped abs!

GROUP ACTIVE® Activate Your Life in only one hour! For the new or the infrequent exercisers. Basic stepping, strength training, balance and flexibility all in one class.

GROUP STEP® Utilizes the step as an effective training tool. Encourages a simple and fun way to cardio train. GROUP KICK® Tap into the hottest mixed martial arts class, movements done at a quick pace to improve your overall fitness. This electric experience is addictive.

COREBAR™ Class consists of high intensity cardio intervals & strength training to focus on your Power Center. Using a unique U-shaped 2-3 lb. weighted bar. Corebar™ is 30 minutes of high energy aerobic conditioning & 30 minutes of muscle conditioning that will increase your strength & improve balance & posture. Class caps at 30 participants so space is limited.

HIIT Enhanced form of interval training, an exercise strategy alternating periods of short intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods. HIIT is a form of cardiovascular exercise. Usual HIIT sessions may vary from 4–30 minutes. These short, intense workouts provide improved athletic capacity and condition, improved glucose metabolism, and improved fat burn- ing. Everyone works at their own intensity. Can use Tabata and Insanity training protocol.

BEGINNER CARDIO An old fashion aerobic classes, dance sweat and move 45 minute class, meets in the gym. BLACK OUT 45 minute, intense cardio, strength and plyometic moves done in a dark room. Can be leveled for different abilities. Wear White.

EXTREME EXERTION High-intensity, athletic, interval training in a cooperative, supportive, environment. In 30 action-filled minutes, we coach you and a partner through a series of 10 exercise activities. Two 1-min. sets on each exercise train your upper body, lower body, core, cardio system, and functional athletic abilities. Work one muscle group with the active training of another. Saturday is a 45 minute class.

STRETCH Full body stretch. 30 minute class. BEGINNER WEIGHT Set in the Free Weight Room, run by two instructors who will set you up on a individual TRAINING program. Fees apply, pre-register at the Welcome Center. SILVERSNEAKERS® Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and balls are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.

HOOPING A fun exercise class using a weighted hoop. Well behaved children are welcomed. OSTEOPOROSIS / Build up your bones and muscles with this new low level class, geared toward the 50 plus CHAIR FITNESS market. Class use light weights, bands and balls and is mostly done in a chair. FREE but must pre-register with Jayne 773-3646 ext. 448

Class participants should be 13 years of age or older. Clean and appropriate footwear. No scents or perfume.

First come, first serve. If a class has started, please respect the other members and do not enter.

No Cell Phone, texting photo or video used in class.
