Riva must be installed and the connections must be configured before using the License Wizard to request trial or full licences from Omni. Please refer to “Riva Setup and Configuration GuideRiva Setup and Configuration GuideRiva Setup and Configuration GuideRiva Setup and Configuration Guide” for detailed instructions.

Do not proceed until Riva is properly installed and configured to connect to the directory, email, and /or CRM systems that you need Riva to interact with.

How to Start Riva How to Start Riva How to Start Riva How to Start Riva

Double-click the Launch RivaLaunch RivaLaunch RivaLaunch Riva desktop icon, or double-click the Riva.exe Riva.exe Riva.exe Riva.exe file in the Riva installation directory.

Running Riva in Demo ModeRunning Riva in Demo ModeRunning Riva in Demo ModeRunning Riva in Demo Mode

All modules and reports included in Riva will run in demonstration mode without any licence files. Before running any Riva policies, we recommend you create an eDirectory group that contains five users with GroupWise accounts. This group should be used as the "destination" for Riva policies in demo mode.

In demonstration mode, policies are restricted to execute against the first fivefivefivefive accounts identified in a destination object. 30-day trial licences can be requested by running the “Request Licence” wizard (see “How to Licence Riva”). The riva.zip riva.zip riva.zip riva.zip file contains sample files. Please refer to the ReadmeRiva.txt ReadmeRiva.txt ReadmeRiva.txt ReadmeRiva.txt file (included in the riva.zip file) for instructions.

If you open or edit an existing policy and that module is running in Demo ModeDemo ModeDemo ModeDemo Mode, a splash screen will open and count down for 5 seconds before permitting the user to continue.

Users can also choose to run the “Licence Request” wizard by clicking the RequestRequestRequestRequest Trial >> Trial >> Trial >> Trial >> button.

Riva is licensed on a per-destination user, per-module basis. This allows you to purchase different licence counts for different modules. Different modules can be licensed for different users, groups, containers, post offices or domains. By default, all modules will run in demo mode on an unlicensed system.

There are three licence modes available with Riva (demo, trial, and full) which can be intermixed (e.g. full for CCU, trial for CPA, demo for all other modules). Licence modes are:

Licence ModeLicence ModeLicence ModeLicence Mode ExplanationExplanationExplanationExplanation

Managed PoliciesManaged PoliciesManaged PoliciesManaged Policies – all managed policies demo using the first five destination accounts in a policy. There are a few exceptions to this:

Common Calendar UpdateCommon Calendar UpdateCommon Calendar UpdateCommon Calendar Update ---- does first 5 destination accounts and replaces the letter 'o' with '-'. Inserts a header and footer message indicating this is a DEMO version of CCU

GWIA Gateway CleanerGWIA Gateway CleanerGWIA Gateway CleanerGWIA Gateway Cleaner - does first 20 addresses in each address book for the first five destination accounts

Customers can request a 30-day unrestricted trial license of any module. Riva includes a built-in license request wizard that will generate the necessary .xml file that needs to be emailed to an Omni staff member who will create a trial licence and email it back to the customer.

GWIA Gateway Cleaner GWIA Gateway Cleaner GWIA Gateway Cleaner GWIA Gateway Cleaner – trial license is restricted to correcting the first 100 addressees in each address book for the destination accounts.

Trial licences are normally limited to a maximum of 10 destination users per module.

Per-module, unlimited, unexpiring licence. The licence mechanism checks GroupWise accounts and back-links this account to the eDirectory account to ensure that a user is only counted once.

Customers can upgrade to new versions of Riva modules until the expiry date of the software upgrades and maintenance contract. Software and maintenance contracts for modules purchased at different dates will be pro-rated to have the same expiry date.
