Three Ways to Earn Promotional Dollars from Sprint
Sprint is offering three incentive promotions* to credit union members and their
employees:
Big news! Sprint is offering the following promotions to credit unions and their
members in addition to the 10% Sprint Credit Union Member Discount and 15%
Business Member Discount:*
• Business Referral Promotion – Members with corporate
phones refer another business to Sprint and earn up to $750
• Employee/Member Referral Promotion –
CU members & CU employees who refer other
CU members & employees to Sprint will each earn
a $50 Visa Prepaid Card

Business Referral Promotion
When: The Business Referral Promotion runs from now until December 31, 2012
What: Refer a new business customer* directly to Sprint with at least 5 new lines
and you could earn a Visa Prepaid Card:
• A $250 Visa Prepaid Card when you refer an account with 5 to 25 new lines
• $10 for each additional line over 25, up to $750 – for a total of 75 new lines
How: New lines must be activated within the first 90 days from the time the account is
opened and remain active for 31 days

Employee/Member Referral Promotion
For the first time Sprint has developed a dedicated referral program for credit unions and their
members. This promotion is available to over 1.1 million participating employees and members.
Referring employees and members must be current Sprint customers utilizing the Sprint Credit
Union Member Discount.
When: Promotion runs through July 31, 2012.
What: Refer credit union members or credit union coworkers to Sprint and if they sign up, you’ll
each receive a $50 Visa Prepaid Card. Earn up to $250 when you refer five new accounts.
(Maximum of five accounts.)
How: Current Sprint customers with a Credit Union discount can start referring today by visiting

The Referral Promotion can be combined with the Port-in (Switch to Sprint) Promotion earning

Hanscom Federal Credit Union
From day one, Hanscom Federal Credit Union based in Massachusetts has been proactive in its
participation and marketing of Invest in America (IIA). First joining the program for the GM Private
Offer discount, Hanscom FCU now participates in almost every partner discount IIA offers.
“Initially it was the incentives for our membership base through the GM program that brought us to
Invest in America,” explains Steve Silva, assistant vice president of marketing for the credit union.
“It gave our credit union the opportunity to secure additional vehicle loans and gave members a
nice value.”
The other partner discounts Hanscom FCU offers its membership are TurboTax, Dell, FTD, Shop
America and Sprint. It’s the credit union’s approach to marketing the Sprint program that sets them
apart. They partnered with a local Sprint sales representative to coordinate branch visits. They team
up with a credit union business development person to promote the phones and the discount.
This was recently done in tandem with the launch of a new mobile app Hanscom was launching.
“We demonstrated the live app on a Sprint phone giving members a chance to use the phone and
use a demo of the app. This brought all the pieces together – two partnerships and the Sprint
discount.”
Sprint and GM aren’t the only successes the credit union has experienced. They actually had a
member call them after Mother’s Day to thank them for the FTD $15 discount. Also the GM Cell
Phone for Soldiers program has made a big impact at their credit union. Silva states, “We reached
out to federal government employees and other SEGs for a cell phone drive. One company replaced
all the cell phones for their management and senior management teams and donated the old ones.
They donated over 200 cell phones.”
From the beginning, Hanscom FCU has gotten the big picture idea of what IIA is all about and
how to use the program for the largest impact. “We’re a credit union that looks to deliver value
and give back to the membership base,” says Silva. “When we have a partner that has a value
proposition, we look at how we can best present that to the membership. It helps that IIA really
is turnkey – all the marketing materials are available. And any time I’ve needed to call or reach
out to the team for anything, they turn it around really quickly. They facilitate best practices to
help drive the program.” n

IIA Sponsors Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Warriors
IIA participating credit unions have already made a major charitable impact with Cell Phones for
Soldiers. Credit unions provide one third of all cell phones contributed under the GM umbrella
during the first quarter 2012. In addition to its support of this program, IIA is further supporting our
country’s troops by sponsoring the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Warriors.
The IIA name and logo will be proudly and prominently placed at two events: The Achilles Hope and
Possibility 5-Mile Weekend in Central Park, New York June 22 to 24 and the Marine Corp Marathon
Weekend in Washington, DC October 26 to 29. The IIA sponsorship will help fund flights, ground
transportation, meals, hotel rooms and more for wounded veterans and their families. n
