WHAT’S CHRISTMAS?

Christmas is widely celebrated as a holiday on the 25th of December. It is celebrated as the birthday of JESUS CHRIST.

Christmas is famous for being one of the most widely celebrated festivals around the world, if not the only one. On this day, young children like me, ask Santa Claus for presents.

Santa Claus also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, or simply ‘Santa’ is a mythical person .There is also a myth about Santa Claus. Let’s read on to find out.

There was a Saint a long time back, and he was well-known to be very generous. People say that after his death, God appointed him as his main deliverer of gifts to people who were worthy. This man was none other than SAINT NICHOLAS. We do not know if this is true or not.

On the 25th of December, people decorate a conifer tree such as pine, fir etc., with bells, ornaments, garlands, and candy canes.

The top of the tree will then be decorated with a STAR

After, finishing decorating the Christmas Tree, everyone goes out to play in the snow that is peacefully falling outside. Children have fun by making SNOWMANS and SNOWANGELS.

Once everyone have finished having fun, they get ready and go to the Church. There, they pray to God and sing hymns in praise of Jesus Christ.

Then, they eat their dinner or supper as it is called and then enjoy themselves with carols. During Christmas and Christmas Eve, the entire family get together and have a good night’s sleep. Then they say:-
