Guadeloupe
Archipelago of nine islands in the Caribbean Sea. It has 435 thousand inhabitants living mainly from tourism and agriculture.Guadeloupe was discovered by Columbus in 1493. Since 1635 is under French rule.The main territory of Guadeloupe consists of two islands: Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre, separated by a narrow channel.The government of Guadalupe is organized like that of France. The politicians are elected by the people. These are the deputies who will represent them in France with the head of state.
Basse-terre is of volcanic origin with inland mountains;
The island of Grande-Terre is where the majority of the population lives. The hotels are concentrated here as well as the main crops of sugarcane, bananas and coffee. The tourists visit mainly the beautiful islands of Saint Barthélemy, Terre-de-Haut and Isle de Saintes.

Dance Zouk - is a rhythm
originating in the Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique, French colonizations. The word means party in the creole dialect – a French / African dialect - and most of the songs are sung in dialect or in French. To dance it takes much romanticism and sensuality; includes many movements of hips and head.
The music of Guadeloupe has its origin in the slaves that were brought to the archipelago. It’s a simple music, played with a percussion instrument called "Gwo-Ka".
