ANIMULA VAGULA BLANDULAANIMULA VAGULA BLANDULAby Giorgio Tentoliniby Giorgio Tentolini
The works of art exhibited were created while he was walking, and he took photographs to the passers
with a digital device. The creator of these photographs took the shots without being seen.

The title of the exposition was
inspired by a work of the
emperor Adrian.
The artist reprocesses the images in his computer, prints them and then overlaps these images to create areas of light and shadow to
make the depth.

The underlying theme is the idea
of a single continous cycle of
materials and concepts, made
by interwining lines. They
symbolize the meeting between
the two sexes and the network,
meant as a metaphor for
modern communication.

The brightness of the artist is
reflected in her artistic choices, which are out of time and out of mode: they are
still tied to the geometric
abstraction.

The figures represented
aren’t regular, but they have a free course, characterise
d by straight lines with
light blends.

Mezzadra paints instinctively and without following a
strict planning or a
preparatory sketch. For this
reason the completed work often
doesn’t come up to her
expectation.

The lack of rationality implies the
impossibility to have a full conscience of
the theme of the work, so the artist
can explain how her composition is
materially born.She shouldn’t insist on
its meaning, which is left to the free
interpretation of the audience.

This work, “Oltre la soglia”, symbolizes
the predominant theme of the voyage
as an interior journey, in our
fantasy. His source of
inspiration is never unique and objective.
It can derive also from a simple observation
or lecture.

“La barca dell’essenze pregiate: versi da
versare, fischietti per sognare” had been
carved in a wood trunk . This one
expresses the idea of the journey, of life and
death. It transports jars, containing verses
of famous poets and whistles which have a
joyful significance.

The idea of “La foresta impugnabile” is derived from the concept referred to his hand of artist where the form and continuation mould his thought.
The works of art by the sculptor Italo Lanfredini have been realised particularly in “terracotta”, an available material in great quantity in our area.

The last sculpture is “Tavole A-
Temporali” realised with
long tables in engraved clay;
they are the symbol of
exchange and communication.
