Your Brief• In groups research (using books, magazines,

internet etc) aspects of the Black and Asian contribution to British culture:

1. Before the 20th century2. From the 20th century onwards (Lesson 1 in library)

• Produce a poster (sugar paper) in your groups to record your findings in an interesting way (Lesson 2)

• Present your research to the rest of the class- we will be peer assessing these! (Lesson 3)

Requirements of your research

• Thematic approach- e.g. B & A contribution in terms of sport, politics, food, entertainment, media etc

• Solid descriptions of what the contributions are (Level 4)

• Your explanations about the impact of these contributions (Level 5+) e.g. improving relations between different communities, creating understanding of different cultures, promoting diversity, producing role models etc

Requirements of your poster

• Clear and eye catching title• Appropriate organisation (thematic?)• Use of text (descriptions

+explanations) and images• Appealing design, use of colour etc• Everyone in the group must contribute

something- this will be part of your assessment
