    BRAZIL VS UNDERDEVELOPED COUNTRIES

As many as 38,000 engineers graduate annually in Brazil. But in China, 400,000

students pass through engineering courses every year says Jos Roberto

    engineering colleges of the country

    ANALYSIS

    BIG ISSUES

The diagnosis of reality in 1,374 courses in the country shows that evasion in

engineering courses is 80%, from 150,000 to enter the first year, just around

    38,000 graduate

"Just a 1 in 4 has adequate training. Brazil graduates less than 10,000 engineers

with expertise and these are disputed by the companies," says Jos Roberto

Cardoso, director of the Polytechnic School of USP, one of the leading

    engineering colleges of the country

    ALTERNATIVES

    Leave like it isNOTHING

    Create a federal engineering department

Increase investments in the educational system specially in the engineering level

Change youth mentality about the career

Encouragement from high school , young people so that they enter into careers

    with focus

Focus on women as well, who currently have less interest

    13/16

    ALTERNATIVES

Enhancement of remuneration policies and retention of professionals, which shouldbe more valued

Closer relations between businesses and educational institutions to adapt programsto the needs of the market

Set an time limit to evaluate the changes reduce scarcity immediately

    Import engineers

Encouragement of foreign experiences Ciencias sem Fronteiras

Create a governmental department focus on the educational improvement

    14/16

    SOLUTION

Creation of a federal engineering department - Set a time limit for improvement in2 years improve by 80,000 number of engineers; plus improving quality percentage

Education is the solution - Encouragement of foreign experiences Ciencias semFronteiras - PARTNERSHIPS

Change youth mentality about the career - Encouragement from high school , youngpeople so that they enter into careers with focus

    Policies and Regulations public incentives

IMPROVED THE ISSUE QUALITATIVE NOT JUST QUANTITATIVE Both would be thebest alternative and can be at the same time.

    CONCLUSION

There is a lack of engineers

Educational in general is a problem

Country is not far behind comparing with other underdeveloped ones

Far behind developed countries so this must be improved

    Solution mentioned should be implemented
