Access: Mindsets Learning is a web application accessible through any modern internet browser and device (ChromeBooks, iPads, laptops) at go.mindsets.com.
Many Mindsets Learning Challenges include videos to provide context and set the scene for the lesson. We draw on videos from a wide range of sources, including Youtube. If a Challenge includes a Youtube video, it will be subject to your school’s Youtube viewing policy. If you cannot play the Youtube video from within the Mindsets Learning Challenge, your school or district may have restricted classroom use of Youtube. Please get in contact with you technology administrator for permissions so you and your students are able to view the Youtube video.
Devices: Mindsets Learning Challenges are perfect for 1:1 classrooms. Each Mindsets Learning Challenge is designed for students using individual devices.
Class Pacing: Students who advance faster through the Challenge will receive bonus questions.
Blended Classroom: Mindsets Learning provides teachers with flexibility to teach with a Challenge. Students may be asked by their teacher to complete some stages of the Challenge independently and other stages together as a class. Teachers may also blend the Challenge with regular classroom instruction - using the stop button is a great way to pause the class and have students focus on your instructions.
Team Work: All student work is posted individually. However, we recommend students work collaboratively in pairs or teams to discuss the questions and their answers.
Student Avatar: Upon first logging in, each student will be asked to select a fun avatar, which will appear with their name at the top of the workspace.
Polls: When asked to respond to a poll, students will make a selection then view the class’s responses. Students’ votes in a poll are anonymous.
