GUIDED TOUR IN SULSIT UNIVERSITY LIBRARY, MUSEUM COLLECTION
AND ORTHODOX CHAPEL ‘ST. NIKOLAY CHUDOTVORETS’

ibrary and information centre of SULSIT is a part of the structure of the
University, aiming to meet the challenges of the rapidly evolving
environment. Main goal is to combine traditional library operations with
modern information technology, presented in an accessible way for young
people.
The library is arranged alphabetical - systematically. It has traditional
alphabetical catalog sheets, but also introduced an automated library
system LIBIS, integrated with a system based on modern RFID
technology.
Fund / the loan and reading room / includes many Bulgarian and foreign
fiction, literature associated with learning in university courses, richly
illustrated encyclopedia of all topics, Bulgarian and foreign (magazines)
periodicals.
Seeking to modernize the environment and thus attract more visitors LIC
are separate areas for creative relaxation with pleasant colored armchairs
type "bean", work tables, wireless Internet access.
I
n 2005 is the beginning of the museum.
The idea is dictated by the need for
preservation of spirituality and
consciousness of today's information
society. Exhibition brings together as the
culture and the feeling of time.
We have to set objects and documents of
11 Bulgarian intellectuals - Anton
Donchev, Nikolay Haytov, Lubomir
Levchev, Radichkov and others.

n May 2008, on the occasion of 130
years of the Liberation of Bulgaria in
the LIC is open American reading
room, the named of Januarius
MacGahan, correspondent of "Daily
News", reflecting the April uprising.
It is very cozy and there are numerous
magazines and books on art, science
and special topic in English.

Reading room of Russian literature is
open in May 2006 on occasion of the
100th anniversary of the Russian
scientist, academician Dmitry Lihachov.
Among many interesting and rare books
in the reading room is open an exposition,
including autographed books of the
academic, personal letters to Bulgarian
citizens, images, and his personal
belongings.

n European Reading Room ‘Peter
Uvaliev’ is open in January 15, 2007.
His choice for patron is a sign of
respect for intellectual and erudite
of the European class, who has
devoted his life to the noble cause
to promote Bulgarian culture in the
spiritual space of Europe.

he Orthodox chapel "ST. NIKOLAY CHUDOTVORETS" in SULSIT is
established with funds from donors and funding from the
Directorate faiths" the Council of Ministers. It is illuminated by the
Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. There the students
have the opportunity to be trained in the following disciplines:
History of religious denominations in Bulgaria, Information funds of
religious centres, Folk and religious holiday calendar, included in
the programs in some faculties of SULSIT. The chapel was built
according to church canons, has the necessary church plate and
there can be held the St. liturgy, as well as to be carried out the
seven mysteries: baptism, anointment, confession, communion,
marriage, etc. All this creates real prerequisites for inclusion of
students from SULSIT to intrinsic values of the Christian faith and
morality.
