GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING
1. Celebrations are published in The Gazette on Sundays at a rate of $3.00 per line plus photographs will be billed at $40.00.
2. If the announcement includes a photograph, we prefer a sharp close-up no smaller than wallet size. Photo should be professional quality, black-and-white or color print. Photos taken with an instant camera and laser photos are not acceptable. Digital photos are accepted. Send a self-addressed stamped envelope so The Gazette can return your photo. Place a label with your name and address on the back of your photograph. We will do everything possible to return your photo after the publishing date.
3. All announcements must be prepaid. We will call you to confi rm placement. We accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover.
4. ALL ANNOUNCEMENTS REQUIRE A COMPLETED AUTHORIZATION FORM. The form must be signed by one of the principals (future bride, future groom, parents or grandparents) with an address and daytime phone number.
5. The Gazette reserves the right to revise, edit or reject any or all copy and/or photographs.
6. All announcements should be neatly printed or typed on Gazette forms provided.

Robert and Margaret Schu-maker of Schenectady, and Tina Ravida of Albany, announce the engagement of their children, Karla Schumaker and Sam Rav-ida. Sam is also the son of the late Guiseppe Ravida. The future bride is a gradu-ate of Notre Dame-Bishop Gib-bons High School and Siena College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in business administration. She received her master’s degree in public administration from Rockefell-er College. She is employed by the NYS Offi ce of State Comp-troller. Her fi ance is a graduate of Bishop McGinn High School. He is employed by NYS Uni-fi ed Court Systems. An April 2009 wedding is planned.
KEITH R. SWANEYKRISTEN L. RIMANY
Kristen L. Rimany and Keith R. Swaney were married May 17, 2008 at First Reformed Church in Schenectady, NY, with Pastor Daniel Carlson and Reverend Robert Longobucco of-fi ciating. A reception followed at Glen Sanders Mansion. The bride is the daughter of Kenneth and Nancy Rimany of Niskayuna. The groom is the son of G. Robert and Gerri Swaney of Upper St. Clair, PA. Matron of honor was the bride’s twin sis-ter, Jessica Rowe. Bridesmaids were Pamela Swaney, sister of the groom, Amy Bockis, and Kira Dietz. Best man was William Mig-nogna, friend of the groom. Ushers were Andrew Bockis, James Rowe, and David Yates. The bride graduated from Gettysburg College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in anthropology/sociol-ogy. She received her master’s degree of edu-cation in higher education administration-stu-dent affairs from Penn State. She is a student advisor at the University at Albany. The groom graduated from Gettysburg Col-lege, where he received his bachelor’s degree in history. He earned two master degrees from the University of Maryland; one in history and one in library science-information sciences. He is employed by the NYS Archives, Albany, as an archives and records management spe-cialist. The couple took a wedding trip to Disney World, FL.

The former Jean Reynolds gradu-ated from Scotia High School. She retired from Weller, Marcil & Greco Insurance. She enjoys reading, puzzles, family and friends. Her husband is a graduate of Scotia High School and served in the U.S. Army He is a retired truck driver for St. Johnsbury Trucking. He enjoys automo-tives, history – especially WW II history and weapons. Their children are Gary (Wendy) of Destin, FL., Tod (Gayle) of Edgewater, FL., Frederick H. III (Terri) of Schenectady, and Scott (Patri-cia) of Scotia.
