I’ve had the privilege to attend International Convention 2013 in Washington D.C. This was my second ICON and I must say it was a different experience but it was still fun and
memorable! , Cali-Nev-Ha had a three day bee tour in our nation’s capitol. We buzzed all around national monuments, buildings, historical places, and even got to go to
fascinating museums including the Smithsonian and Spy museum. Everywhere we went, we dominated the area like a bee swarm! Along with our touring, what a key club event be without doing some service? CNH woke up
bright and early to attend a Kid’s Against Hunger Service Project where we, along with
the key clubbers from all over the world, came together to package 1,060,000 meals for
malnourished children and their families! The feeling of doing service is definitely one of the
greatest perks of being a key clubber! After our travels and service convention finally came along as hundreds of key clubbers were checking into the hotel and hanging around the lobby. The first evening of convention all
the districts were gathered into one giant room for the official ICON meet and greet where we were being busy bees by trading awesome pins and getting to know all the different districts.
For the next three days International Convention went by quicker than a blink of
the eye!

CNH key clubbers filled with spirit participated in the general sessions, hours of caucusing, recognition,
service fair, educational work-shops; eliminate dinner, House of Delegated, and so much more! As we were reaching the end of convention, it was time for the retirement of the old 2012-2013 board and instillation of the newly elected 2013-2014 board of
Key Club International. Speeches were made and tears were shed, but
International Convention 2013 was a great one! After the official adjournment of the closing session, key clubbers ended the night raising money for MNT and making memories at the Eliminate Dance before all the districts went their separate ways the next day. Overall, we California-Nevada-Hawaii key clubbers
had a phenomenal time in Washington D.C. for the 70th Annual Key Club International convention! Hopefully next year many of you will be able to
attend ICON 2014 in Anaheim, CA and join in on the fun experience! -Pauline Nguyen, 12th

OTC
This year’s Officer Training Conference, OTC, was held at Manresa State Beach. It was a fun day at the beach bonding and learning with Key Clubbers from all over
region 17! Our day consisted of workshops, food, icebreakers, and a sand-sculpting contest, which our very own division won! I had such an amazing time and I hope
everyone did too! And if you didn’t get a chance to go this year, then definitely try to go next year because you won’t regret it! (:

OTC 6/22/13
Alycia, Vivian, Elena, Vicky, Gabe, Jasmine, Brandon, Pauline, and I set out early to OTC at Manresa State Beach and had an afternoon filled with information, ice breakers, sun, and new people.
RTC
Region Training Conference was an amazing experience for me! From attending as both a member AND an officer, I found a lot of
helpful leadership tips that would better me in both positions. The workshops led by the different
LTGs and the District Board were not only educational, but inspiring as well. At night there's a campfire where you get to split into different
groups and perform your own skits. After that you have the
choice of either dancing the night away at the dance, or playing games
in the alternate activities room. RTC is the first event you get to
spend with different regions from all over Northern California, so don't miss out on the chance to
make new friends! The excitement, the energy, and spirit are definitely NOT something you want to miss!
Hope to see you there!
