• Ladder safety – Use a strong, study ladder, that can support your weight

• Always check the ground before climbing the ladder to ensure the soil is solid.

Always have 3 points of your body in contact with the ladder when climbing to ensure maximum safety.

• Use a water hose and a gutter scoop or small shovel to assist with debris removal and guarantee and through cleaning

• Wear gloves! Gloves can protect your hands from the often foul things found in your gutter (bird and squirrel droppings have a lot of bacteria for instance)

• The gloves can also protect you from sharp edges on the gutters themselves and getting nicks and cuts from twigs.

• Wear proper eye protection, as spraying in the gutter might cause bits of water and debris to fly out.

• Rake off your roof before you fully flush out the gutters, so you don’t have to start the whole process over if you have a lot of leaves and pine needles on your roof.

• Once you have all the debris off the roof and the gutter, run water at full pressure down the water pipe to have a fully flushed out and clean gutter system!
